Process-Oriented Worker| Strong Organizational Skills

From a young age, I have always taken ownership of my path. I was only three years old when I convinced my parents on starting school. At five, I convinced my mother to transfer me from a private prep school to a public science-oriented program because I wanted a faster learning pace. At twelve, I chose my own high school. By eighteen, I made the decision to leave my province and study in a top university in Manila, seeking better academic quality. At twenty, I chose to return home, knowing it would be a harder and slower path, because I saw the weight my mother was carrying and wanted to ease the burden. These decisions were not easy, but they came from a deep sense of direction, self-awareness, and the drive to pursue what I believe is right — even when the way forward is uncertain.

Every major turning point in my life was guided by my own direction, not by pressure from others. I recognized what I needed, voiced it, and followed through. At twenty, I made the choice to return home from Manila, leaving behind the comfort of a big university to ease the financial weight on my mother. I knew it would be a slower, more demanding journey, but I trusted my ability to adapt and keep pursuing my goals. Self-leadership, for me, means staying grounded in what matters, taking responsibility for my path, and leading myself with discipline, empathy, and purpose.

I have experience using Microsoft PowerPoint for academic presentations and research competitions. Since childhood, I’ve been creating slides with clean formatting, animations, and structured layouts. In 2023, I presented my research as part of the Shell Nxplorers Bright Ideas Challenge, where my team emerged as champions. I handled the design and flow of the presentation, ensuring our ideas were communicated clearly, visually, and persuasively. I’m confident in creating slides from scratch, incorporating media, organizing complex content, and presenting in a way that engages an audience — whether for school, work, or competition.

I have over a decade of self-taught experience using Microsoft Word, beginning at the age of 6. In 2023, I earned a Microsoft Youth Ambassador Certificate, a program jointly supported by DepEd and YFD, which strengthened my foundational skills in Microsoft Office tools and digital productivity. I’m confident in document formatting, inserting tables and images, applying consistent styles and headings, and organizing layouts for clean, professional output. This certification reflects my initiative to grow beyond the classroom and demonstrates my commitment to mastering tools that help me work more efficiently and effectively.

Growing up with a single mother since I was 3, I learned early how to adapt to constant change — moving in and out of rentals, shifting environments, and taking responsibility beyond my years. When I entered college in Manila, I navigated life independently: from commuting across the city through all types of transportation, living alone in a condo with high expenses, moving into an apartment with friends and eventually parting ways due to financial strain, to finally settling with relatives two hours away from school. Every shift taught me how to adjust quickly, manage stress, and stay focused on my goals despite discomfort. These experiences made me flexible, grounded, and ready to thrive in any work environment — remote or otherwise.

Growing up during the transition from analog to digital, I developed strong tech skills early. At 3 years old, I figured out how to use my mom’s Nokia phone, and by 5, I was navigating a full desktop setup in her office, where I assisted with basic computer operations as she worked solo. I’ve experienced the evolution of technology firsthand, from laptops with CD trays to today’s high-speed systems, and adapted on my own without formal instruction. My tech fluency is the result of hands-on exploration, and it continues to grow as I stay curious and adaptable in new digital environments.

I began using Canva at age 12 during Grade 8 and have been continuously honing my skills since then. With access to Canva Premium through DLSU, I expanded my experience by designing for school organizations both in high school and college. I consistently applied for marketing committees, where I helped create publication materials, social media content, and visual assets for events. In college, I also worked as a student assistant in the library under the Public Projects Committee, where I created Canva-made posts for announcements and outreach efforts.

I have a solid background in research, beginning from Grade 7 to 12, where I completed a dedicated research course every year and often took the lead in developing and presenting research papers. While I’ve consistently wanted to deepen my skills, my progress was limited by access to equipment and software. I later used CapCut, which helped me continue learning simple but effective video creation. At 18, I had the opportunity to explore Adobe Premiere Pro and Media Encoder during college, but I still require guided learning to navigate them confidently. I would rate my current skill level at 2 out of 5, with a strong willingness and readiness to improve through hands-on practice and proper tutorials.
