I build backend systems that handle real money at real scale. For the past several years I have owned a lottery transaction platform processing around 4 million requests in a 12 hour window across five provinces, cut its database consumption by about 68%, and moved its APIs to AWS Lambda without breaking a single client. 12+ years in PHP, Laravel, Node.js, TypeScript and AWS.
Since October 2023 I have worked continuously with the same STL and gaming group of companies: licensed Small Town Lottery operators across five provinces (Hexaprime, Mekas Gaming, Antiguas Gaming and Northman Gaming), their technology arm IGI Tech, and the group's gaming studio. I started as the group's external technology vendor through my own company, Mabizza IT Solutions, where as Founder and Lead Engineer I built and expanded the STL transaction platform (tickets, bets, payouts, cancellations, daily sales, teller APIs and reporting) from its first province to five provinces across Mindanao, running on Laravel, Aurora MySQL, Redis, SQS and EC2 with close attention to transaction correctness, idempotency and concurrency.
In September 2025 I moved in house as Chief Technology Officer of the group's gaming studio, where I set up the technology and engineering team, hired its game developers, and build Unity games and an online gaming platform using AI assisted development with Claude Code. I also lead technology for the group's five STL provinces and IT staff operations across its operating areas. My recent work on the STL platform includes migrating selected Laravel 9 API workloads from EC2 and PHP FPM to AWS Lambda (TypeScript, Middy, Lesgo, API Gateway) while preserving the exact HTTP status, header and JSON contracts that existing teller clients depend on, and reducing combined Aurora Serverless v2 ACU consumption by about 68% across production environments in a measured comparison window, with modeled savings of about US$5,100 to US$6,700 per month. I also identified an unneeded Amazon DocumentDB dependency and verified the applications could run without it, with safety gates defined before any infrastructure removal.
From January 2021 to January 2024 I was a Software Engineer at Incube8, the engineering division behind ----------- and -----------. I was the sole developer and maintainer of the OpenSearch powered search microservice used by all of the company's dating platforms, and owned its scalability, performance and accuracy. I also built microservices for fraud detection, push notifications and SMS, and contributed to Lesgo, the company's open source serverless framework, using Node.js, AWS Lambda, SNS, SQS, S3, DynamoDB and CloudFormation.
Before that I was a Laravel and VueJS Developer at DigitalTolk, a Swedish interpretation marketplace, maintaining REST APIs and microservices for its Vue.js web app and React Native mobile app. As a partner and lead developer at Grand Gaming Group in Iligan City, I led development of a system automating the full STL betting process with a Laravel API and a React Native app for outlets and collectors, the first of its kind in Lanao del Sur. As Chief Technical Officer of Cazoomi, I developed and maintained SyncApps, a complex, high traffic SaaS integration platform connecting CRMs, email service providers and marketing platforms such as Salesforce, NetSuite, HubSpot, Zoho CRM, Mailchimp and SendGrid, and led the development team. Earlier in my career I built a large Meteor.js mobile application for AltAssets, a London private equity firm, at Ultro Digital, and PHP web applications at Blue Ocean BPO and Azaza Biz Solutions.
My focus is incremental modernization, database performance and infrastructure cost. I measure changes against real production traffic, protect the contracts other systems depend on, and document what I build. I am open to remote roles and onsite roles.
