As a newly Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Graduate, I am eager to contribute my technical expertise to advancing sustainable agriculture in our region, particularly in introducing fresh expertise in novel agricultural techniques and strategies honed through my recent graduation and hands-on research at the Mariano Marcos State University – College of Engineering. My academic experience has equipped me with hands-on skills directly aligned with the institution's agenda of strengthening agriculture. During my under-graduate thesis work, I designed and evaluated a rack-type vertical farming system for high value crop production and conducted data-driven experiment on indoor shallot production on hydroponic vertical farms, analyzing growth stages, nutrient management, and environmental controls using statistical methods. I optimized irrigation, LED grow light systems and electrical components to enhance efficiency and sustainability. The study produced valuable information for further research on soilless agriculture as the key to enhancing food security.
