The Great History Challenge is a history competition for middle school (grades 6–8) students. We work with teachers across the US to give their students the opportunity to shine. We believe that by creating fun educational experiences, we can help students love learning!
We're a small, growing team that works hard, has fun, and genuinely cares about making a difference.

We're looking for an **Executive Virtual Assistant** to become an important part of our team.
But we don't want just anyone...
We're looking for an organizational rockstar! Someone who loves turning chaos into order, gets satisfaction from crossing things off a to-do list, and takes pride in making sure nothing falls through the cracks.
Initially, a big part of your job will be helping our founder stay organized, focused, and productive. But that's just the beginning!

Because we're a small team, you'll wear many hats. Here are some of the things you'll be doing:

Don't worry if you don't know all our software tools right now. We're a team of former teachers, and we're happy to teach you what you need to know.
**ABOUT YOU**
- You are naturally organized and love keeping things running smoothly
- You take initiative rather than waiting for instructions
- You have excellent written and spoken English
- You are familiar with Getting Things Done (GTD), or excited to learn it
- You are curious, resourceful, and enjoy solving problems
- You take pride in your attention to detail and following through on commitments
- You are enthusiastic, positive, and eager to learn new skills
- You want to grow and take on more responsibility over time
**ABOUT US**
We're a small, friendly organization. We value good ideas, open communication, flexibility, a sense of humor, and people who genuinely care about their work.
**We believe in treating people like adults.** We don't believe in micromanaging or watching the clock. We trust our team members to do great work, communicate openly, and follow through on their commitments.
We also know that life happens! Family celebrations, appointments, and unexpected situations are part of life. We're happy to be flexible when you need it. All we ask is that you communicate with us and keep the team informed.
We love helping our team members grow, too! In fact, our previous Virtual Assistant has grown into a department leadership role—which is one of the reasons we're hiring now!
If you're looking for a place where you can make a difference, learn new things, and become an important part of a team, we'd love to meet you!
