I have been working in the government sector for five years as an Agricultural Engineer in a small province in the Philippines. Currently, I function as a one-man team in our department, handling both technical and administrative responsibilities. Due to the limited capacity of leadership, I independently manage the day-to-day operations, effectively serving as the primary decision-maker and coordinator of the office.
Because my supervisor is nearing retirement and no longer fully active, I have taken full responsibility for managing the office workflow (planning and documentation, report preparation, budget and proposal writing, coordination with National Government Agencies (NGAs)) on behalf of the department. In practice, I have become the core support and driving force of our office.
Through this experience, I developed strong skills in administrative management, coordination, communication, documentation, and independent decision-making. I am proactive, resourceful, and comfortable working autonomously—skills that translate well into remote work, virtual assistance, and project-based roles.
