Hi, I’m Ma. Shermie Solas, a licensed Civil Engineer from Cebu, Philippines, with several years of experience in construction, project management, and property preservation.

I worked as a Property Specialist, where I handle U.S. foreclosure properties throughout the pre-REO and pre-sale stages. My responsibilities include reviewing property conditions, evaluating vendor bids, coordinating repairs and maintenance, preparing work orders, and making sure that recommendations are aligned with client and investor guidelines.

What makes my role especially interesting is how closely it connects to my previous experience as a Construction Project Engineer. In my previous role, I was involved in project inspections, monitoring construction progress, reviewing technical requirements, coordinating with contractors and vendors, and preparing detailed reports.

That engineering background has become very valuable in my current position because I’m able to understand property conditions from a technical perspective. When I review photos, bids, or repair recommendations, I can assess whether the proposed work is reasonable, identify potential issues, and determine what repairs are actually necessary.

At the same time, working with U.S.-based clients and vendors has strengthened my communication, attention to detail, time management, and ability to work independently.
Overall, I believe my combination of engineering, construction, and property preservation experience allows me to look at a property not just from a management perspective, but also from a technical and practical standpoint.
