The Outbound Business Development Representative is responsible for proactively generating and nurturing commercial and multi-unit accounts through outbound calling and relationship management. This role focuses on identifying decision-makers, introducing company capabilities, maintaining ongoing account engagement, and driving recurring roofing and electrical service opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Outbound Prospecting & Lead Generation
Conduct outbound calls to 10–30 new prospective accounts daily, including building managers, property managers, general contractors, HOAs, and facility directors
Introduce the company’s services, licenses, and technical capabilities in a professional and consultative manner
Identify key decision-makers and gather accurate contact information
Build and maintain targeted prospect lists using tools such as DataAxle, Apollo, legacy databases, and public resources
Verify and segment contact data by account type and service opportunity
Account Management & Relationship Development
Perform weekly or monthly check-in calls with existing accounts to maintain relationships and top-of-mind awareness
Encourage clients to submit roofing and electrical service requests and work orders
Identify upcoming projects, maintenance needs, and capital improvement plans
Strengthen long-term client relationships to support recurring and referral-based business
CRM & Pipeline Management
Accurately enter all contacts, call notes, and follow-up actions into the CRM system
Maintain an up-to-date lead pipeline with clear statuses and next steps
Track outreach activity, appointments set, and opportunities identified
Coordinate with the owner, estimators, and project managers to ensure proper handoff and follow-up
Reporting & Communication
Provide daily activity summaries including calls made, conversations completed, appointments scheduled, and opportunities identified
Communicate lead progress, client feedback, and market insights to leadership and operations teams
Qualifications & Skills
Strong verbal communication and professional phone presence
Experience in outbound calling, business development, or account management (construction, property management, or B2B services preferred)
Organized, self-motivated, and results-driven
Comfortable working within a CRM and maintaining accurate records
Ability to build rapport with commercial decision-makers
Familiarity with roofing, electrical, or construction services is a plus
