About Us
LeanScaper is the category leader in landscape industry thought leadership. We help landscape business owners build companies that work without them — through education, community, and AI-powered tools. Our media team produces YouTube content (Q&As, Podcasts, Intensives), Instagram Reels, ads, and special projects for a growing audience of landscape CEOs and operators. We are a remote-first team with Filipino editors at the core of our content factory. This is a long-term role, not a one-off project.
The Role
We’re looking for a Video Editor who can work across both long-form YouTube content and short-form social media. You’ll edit podcasts, Q&As, Reels, kinetic text ads, promos, and special projects. You won’t be doing all of these at once — you’ll be assigned to specific formats and projects at a time, with the flexibility to move across them as needed.
We’re not looking for someone who just knows the mechanics. We need someone with creative vision — the ability to look at raw footage and see what the finished piece could become. Vision, taste, and judgment matter more than flashy effects.
What You’ll Do
Edit long-form content: podcasts (~60 min), Intensives (~30–35 min), Q&As (~3–10 min)
Edit short-form content: Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts — both repurposed clips and original builds (promos, kinetic text, scripted social)
Build hooks — the first 3 seconds of every piece of content are your responsibility
Handle all audio design: music selection, sound effects, mixing, and cleanup
Source your own B-roll from the internal library and in-house footage
Follow packaging playbooks for titles, descriptions, SEO tags, and quality checklists
Update the Production Tracker same-day when status changes
Deliver publish-ready assets on time, within rate card hours, and to standard on first review
You will be assigned one or two formats at a time. The full list above represents the range of content you may work on over time — not your daily workload.
What We’re Looking For
Must have: Strong English comprehension — you must fully understand the spoken content you’re editing
Creative vision — you can see what a piece could become before you start cutting
Editing range across long, medium, and short-form content
Audio design skills — music, SFX, mixing, cleanup
Personal subscriptions to Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects — these are required and must be active before you start
Portfolio showing technical polish, not just raw pacing
At least one short-form vertical example in your portfolio
Gets our attention:
Experience editing for a creator or brand YouTube channel
Can explain what makes a good hook
Willingness to work with AI tools (we use ChatGPT and Claude)
Experience with video research and B-roll sourcing
Nice to have:
Familiarity with AI generation tools in Envato or FigmaWeave
Experience with Notion and

Expect frequent feedback in the first 60 days as you learn our standards

Values — Who Thrives Here
You care about the work. You do a second preview before submitting — catching typos, checking audio levels. Not overworking. Just being thorough with the time you have.
You take pride in what you produce. You don’t ship work you’d be embarrassed to show.
You pursue excellence. Substandard work is not something you can live with.
You take the opportunity. LeanScaper is open to equipping you with the tools you need. Take that and push as far as you can go.
