Video Editor — EYE for an Idea | Monthly Creative Content Series | Ongoing Role
About the Show
EYE for an Idea is a monthly video content series powered by
The tone is fun, fast, energetic, and personality-led. Part industry commentary, part talk show, part creative intelligence briefing. This is NOT a corporate series. It has a strong point of view and a distinct voice, and the editing needs to match that energy completely.
The show is hosted by Omar Khan, Founder of
What You'll Be Editing
Each episode is a focused deep-dive into one standout creative campaign or idea. The structure per episode is tight and punchy:
A fast, energetic intro
Campaign breakdown — what it is, why it works, what makes it clever
Regional relevance — what it means for UAE/Middle East audiences and brands
A closing takeaway and call to action
All filming is done by the host at home. You will not be required on set. Raw footage, the full script, and all campaign assets and references will be provided to you ahead of every edit.
Deliverables Per Episode
One full-length edited episode (5–10 minutes) optimised for YouTube
3–4 short-form social cuts optimised for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and LinkedIn
Captions/subtitles as standard throughout
Thumbnail asset for YouTube
The Editing Style
This is the most important section. Please read it carefully before applying.
We are looking for visually rich, creator-native editing. Think dynamic motion graphics, animated text overlays, sharp cuts, colour, and energy throughout. This is emphatically not B-roll with captions dropped on top. Every visual choice should serve the storytelling and amplify the host's energy.
Primary reference creators — please watch these before applying:
Cleo Abram —
LegalEagle —
Wendover Productions —
Johnny Harris —
Vox —
The editing style sits closest to Cleo Abram — personality-led, fast, visually engaging, with graphics and animation that genuinely serve the ideas being discussed. Wendover Productions is the reference for motion graphics quality specifically.
What we do NOT want:
Corporate or broadcast-style editing
Slow dissolves or generic transitions
PowerPoint-style graphics
Over-produced effects that feel like a TV commercial
Anything formal, stiff, or "news anchor"
Important — Please Read Before Applying
No AI-generated content. We are not looking for AI-generated visuals, AI motion graphics, or automated editing workflows. We need a skilled human editor who makes real creative decisions with genuine craft and intention. If your process relies heavily on AI generation tools to produce visual content, please do not apply.
We will be trialling a small number of shortlisted editors on the first episode. This means more than one editor may work on the same brief simultaneously so we can find the right long-term fit. Payment will be made to all shortlisted candidates regardless of outcome.
Ideal Candidate
You should be able to demonstrate:
Strong experience editing creator-style YouTube content — not corporate, not broadcast
Fluency in motion graphics and animated text design (After Effects or equivalent)
Ability to maintain a consistent visual identity across a series of episodes
Understanding of short-form social media formats and platform requirements
Fast, reliable turnaround — we are building momentum and posting consistently matters
Good communication and ability to take creative direction while also contributing ideas
This is a 3-month initial trial, one episode per month, with strong potential to become more frequent and long-term as the series grows. We want to find someone who grows with the show.
To Apply
Please include:
Your portfolio — specifically YouTube creator edits and/or Reels/TikTok content
Your rate per episode (full cut + social clips)
Your typical turnaround from receiving raw footage to rough cut delivery
A brief note on which of the reference creators your editing style is closest to and why
