JOB OVERVIEW

ABOUT BRAINOVA AI
Brainova AI helps founders, operators, and decision-makers scale their companies with AI — AI agents, AI employees, workflow automation, and the practical playbooks behind it all. We're expanding into video as a primary distribution channel and hiring a Video Editor to anchor our content production.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for a video editor who can turn our raw footage into LinkedIn-native videos, YouTube long-form, Shorts, and Reels. LinkedIn is our primary platform, so the cuts going there must be tuned for muted autoplay, burned-in captions, and a 1–2 second hook.

We're at the start of building out our video brand. There's no locked-in show format, style guide, or template library yet — you'll help us design it. We need a partner with strong opinions, not just a button-pusher. If you only want to execute against a finished brief, this isn't the right role.

Reference style: Alex Hormozi and Dan Martell — retention-engineered long-form (constant on-screen text, b-roll punch-ins, pattern interrupts) and hook-driven vertical edits.

Tone: Smart but not stuffy. Confident, fast, occasionally funny. We sell people a dream and show them how to achieve it.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Edit long-form YouTube episodes (8–30 min) with cold-opens, chapters, b-roll, animated captions, lower-thirds, music, and sound design
- Edit LinkedIn-native videos (30–90 sec, 1:1 or 4:5, burned-in captions, scroll-stopping hooks)
- Edit vertical Shorts/Reels/TikToks (15–60 sec, 9:16) with strong 3-second hooks
- Multi-cam syncing for podcast and talking-head shoots
- Repurpose long-form into standalone clips, each with its own hook and payoff
- Add b-roll, motion graphics, animated captions, transitions, SFX, and music
- Color correct and grade for series consistency
- Dialogue cleanup, leveling, noise reduction, LUFS-aware mastering
- Design and produce thumbnails and cover images for each piece (LinkedIn + YouTube)
- Help define the show: visual style, format, template library, workflow, naming conventions

MUST HAVE
- 2+ years editing for YouTube, podcasts, or social — with a public portfolio showing both long-form and Shorts
- Fluent in at least one pro NLE: Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro
- Working competence in After Effects (or Fusion) for motion graphics and animated text
- Strong audio chops: leveling, noise reduction, de-essing, music ducking (Audition, Fairlight, or Logic)
- Captioning workflow you can run end-to-end (Descript, CapCut, Premiere auto-transcribe, etc.) with brand styling
- Fluency with AI-powered video editing and content generation tools (Descript, Runway, CapCut AI, Opus Clip, Submagic, ElevenLabs, Sora, Veo, Kling, etc.) AND genuine openness to learn new ones as they emerge. The AI video space moves fast — we want someone who actively explores tools that streamline production and raises the quality ceiling, not someone who only sticks to what they learned three years ago
- Native-level English comprehension — you can spot the right pull-quote in a 90-min conversation and know where a joke lands
- Reliable delivery, sensible file naming, and consistent communication
- Comfortable with ambiguity — the first few weeks will involve a lot of "let's try it and see"

NICE TO HAVE
- LinkedIn-native video experience (muted autoplay, 1–2 sec hooks, square/portrait-first)
- Hormozi/MrBeast/direct-response editing style
- Thumbnail design skills (Photoshop or Figma)
- Familiarity with YouTube analytics — retention curves, average view duration

HOW WE'LL WORK
- Async-first, with a few working sessions per week at the start while we define the show, then lighter check-ins once a style is locked
- Project-based pay to start — we may begin anywhere from ~10 hours a week up to full-time right away, depending on fit
- Long-term role for the right person; you'll co-own the Brainova AI video style guide
- ---------- or similar for review; Google Drive / Dropbox for assets

HOW TO APPLY
Send the following — applications missing any of these will be skipped:

1. PORTFOLIO: Links to 2–3 long-form edits and 2–3 Shorts/Reels you cut. For each one, tell us what YOU specifically did vs. what the client provided.

2. TOOLS: The NLE, motion graphics, and audio software you use day-to-day — plus any AI video tools you currently use in your workflow and what you use them for.

3. RATE: Per short, per long-form, per hour, and/or per month. Be specific.

4. AVAILABILITY: Hours per week and your time zone.

5. SHOW YOUR BUILD CHOPS: One example of a channel or brand whose visual style you helped shape from scratch (or significantly evolved). What did you choose, and why? Link to before/after if you have it.

6. To prove you actually read this post, start your message with the word "SHIPPED" in all caps. Messages without it will be ignored.

Shortlisted candidates will be sent a 5-minute raw clip to cut into a 30–60 second Short as a paid test edit.

We're looking forward to seeing your work.
