JOB OVERVIEW

Seeking a systems administrator to set up, and possibly maintain a VPS or two

Ideal candidate will be proficient in UNIX/Linux. Candidate should be familiar with GitHub. Candidate should have sufficient experience and confidence to be willing to make a decision independently and, if it is discovered that the decision was not the desired decision after the fact, candidate should have sufficient maturity to go back and do it differently.

The current task is to set up the server and install a few programs for employees to access and possibly migrate a small email application (Mozilla Thunderbird at present). It may later be used as a production server for software development, but made be used for oddball applications which need a home but should not be conflated with the production server.

Compensation will be per task or, if we get sufficiently busy, part-time.

Please respond with your CV/resume, your expectations, and your estimated ---------- to complete the email migration and installation of six software applications on the server. I would like to get this done before the American Thanksgiving holiday weekend, as the server hardware may be taken down for maintenance, so speed and quick responses are valued. We may hire the good candidate now, instead of the best candidate later.
