Social Media Manager & Short-Form Video Creator
Part-Time | Starting at Approx. 10 Hours/Week | Long-Term Opportunity
We are looking for a creative and reliable Social Media Manager & Short-Form Video Creator to help manage and grow the social media presence of two Canadian businesses.
The position will initially focus on our trailer company, Acheson Trailers, where you will work approximately 10 hours per week.
We want to use this initial period as a trial to make sure we are a good fit, establish a workflow, and see what type of content performs best.
If things go well, we plan to add our second company, Acrylic Candy, to your responsibilities. At that point, we expect the position to increase to approximately 15 hours per week, with the potential for further growth over time.
The Two Businesses
Acheson Trailers
An established Canadian trailer company selling utility trailers, dump trailers, equipment trailers, car haulers, tilt trailers, enclosed trailers, and more.
This will be the first business you work on.
Acrylic Candy
A new creative business specializing in acrylic sheets, UV printing, laser-cut products, crafting supplies, custom products, and behind-the-scenes creative content.
Acrylic Candy will be added after the initial trial period if we are a good fit.
The two companies are very different, so we are looking for someone who can understand each audience and develop a different content style for each brand.
What You'll Do
We will provide the raw video footage, photos, product information, pricing, and ideas. We need someone who can take that material and turn it into engaging short-form content.
Your responsibilities will include:
Editing short-form videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels,
Turning one filming session into multiple pieces of content whenever possible
Creating strong hooks that capture attention in the first few seconds
Adding text overlays, captions, music, transitions, product information, and calls-to-action
Writing captions and descriptions
Scheduling and publishing content consistently
Helping come up with new content and video ideas
Following relevant social media trends and adapting them to our businesses
Reviewing analytics to understand which videos, hooks, topics, and formats perform best
Using those results to improve future content
Providing a simple weekly report showing what was posted, how it performed, what worked, what didn't, and what you recommend trying next
What We're Really Looking For
We are not just looking for a video editor.
We want someone who can become responsible for helping us grow our social media presence.
For example, we may send you 10 minutes of raw footage walking around a new trailer. We would like you to identify several different content opportunities from that footage — perhaps a trailer walkaround, a feature-focused video, a quick attention-grabbing Reel, a close-up of a unique feature, or another creative angle.
We don't want to have to provide every video idea. We want someone who will bring ideas to us as well.
We also want you to look at the results. If one type of video performs significantly better than another, we want you to recognize that and help us create more content based on what our audience is responding to.
What We're Looking For
Experience with short-form video editing and social media management is important.
CapCut Pro experience is strongly preferred.
You should understand short-form video hooks, viewer retention, content repurposing, social media trends, posting/scheduling, and basic social media analytics.
You should be creative, organized, dependable, comfortable working independently, and able to communicate well in English.
Hours & Growth
Starting: Approximately 10 hours per week, focusing on Acheson Trailers.
After a successful trial: Acrylic Candy will be added, and we expect the position to increase to approximately 15 hours per week.
There may be an opportunity for additional hours and responsibilities as both companies grow.
We are hoping to find someone who wants a long-term position and can eventually become the person we rely on for our social media content.
