JOB OVERVIEW
The Lavender Agency is a marketing strategy firm working with fashion, beauty, and lifestyle brands. We are a small, senior team — brand design, web development, media buying, SEO, and marketing ops.
We are hiring a Junior Brand + Graphic Designer to support our Senior Designer across our client roster. This starts as a two-week paid trial at 20 hours per week. If the work is strong, it becomes an ongoing part-time role. If you continue to perform, it becomes full-time.
This is a junior seat, and we mean that as an invitation. You will work under a Senior Brand + Graphic Designer who reviews and approves everything before it reaches leadership. You will get real direction, real feedback, and real client work. What we need from you is taste, care, and the willingness to be coached.
We are not testing whether you can design. Your portfolio tells us that. We are testing whether you can design inside a team — take a note, hit a deadline, hand off clean files, and ask the right question before you start rather than after you have finished.
THE TWO-WEEK TRIAL
You will be given real client work with real deadlines. Over two weeks you will produce a defined set of deliverables — brand assets, social graphics, and at least one web page design — working directly with our Senior Designer.
Paid at $8/hour, 20 hours per week. What we are evaluating:
- Taste: Does the work land, or does it merely comply?
- Coachability: Can you receive a note without losing your own eye?
- Communication: Do you flag a blocker at hour 3, or at the deadline?
- File discipline: Are your handoffs organized, named, and buildable by a developer?
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Support brand identity work for client brands — brandbook pages, type and color systems, mark and asset development
- Design social content, pitch decks, lead magnets, PDF guides, and event collateral
- Support web and landing page design that gets handed off to our developer to build
- Design polished, reusable presentation layouts
- Adapt between client brand voices without collapsing them into one house style
- Take direction from the Senior Designer and turn revisions around quickly and cleanly
THE DESIGN STYLE WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Elevated, modern, editorial-inspired
- Sophisticated without feeling cold
- Minimal but intentional. Restraint is a choice, not an absence.
- Serious typography and layout instincts
- Clean luxury aesthetic
We are not looking for trendy, and we are not looking for corporate. If your portfolio is full of gradients and stock icons, this is not the fit.
REQUIRED
- A portfolio showing real brand and layout work, even if it is student, spec, or personal work
- Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and/or Canva fluency
- Ability to follow creative direction closely and execute it accurately
- Clear written English and fast, consistent communication
- Organized, well-named final file delivery
- Genuine attention to detail. Spacing, alignment, and kerning are not small things to us.
PREFERRED
- Fashion, beauty, wellness, or hospitality work
- Understanding of presentation storytelling and information hierarchy
- Familiarity with designing for Shopify, Wix, or Squarespace builds
- Experience working with agencies or premium brands
THE PATH
Two-week paid trial at 20 hours per week, then ongoing part-time at 20 hours per week, then full-time at 40 hours per week — based on performance. We promote from inside. We would rather grow the right person than keep re-hiring.
HOURS AND AVAILABILITY
Our team operates between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM US Eastern Time (8:00 PM to 7:00 AM Philippine Time). Your schedule within that window is flexible — we care about output, not clock-watching — but your working hours must fall inside it. We coordinate closely across design, development, and media, and that only works when we overlap. Please only apply if you can reliably work this schedule.
