Blog-to-Reel Storyteller — Chic Kitty + Shaggy Chic (Gig, Ongoing) — $9/video
Job Type: Gig, paid per video, ongoing
Pay: $9 per finished Reel
Initial gig: 30 Reels, delivered and paid in gated steps — 5, then 10, then 15
Ongoing: minimum 30 Reels every 3 weeks, at your pace, in two batches of 15 (evenly split cats and dogs)
Company: Chic Kitty / Shaggy Chic — a pet lifestyle media company
ABOUT THIS WORK
We run two editorial pet lifestyle brands — Chic Kitty (cats) and Shaggy Chic (dogs). We give you one of our blog posts; you turn its storyline into a beautifully crafted, visually engaging, educational, and luxurious short-form video. The blog is your script.
This is gig work, paid per video, ongoing for the right editor.
This is not for people who film their pets and hope. This is storytelling: a clear hook, a narrative built from the blog, completion-optimized, editorial grade.
BRAND VOICE AND LOOK (read this — it is the whole job)
None of our brands is cute or cutesy — we are the opposite. Animals are revered family members and intelligent subjects, never "the cat/dog," "fur baby," "pet," or "cute." We talk to our audience.
Chic Kitty (cats): "the cat lover's edit" — elevated, quiet, observational, intelligent. Calm and editorial, the cat is treated with real respect.
Shaggy Chic (dogs): "life, styled with dogs" — warm, refined, east-coast lifestyle.
References for the feel: Kinfolk, Aesop, The Row, a Vogue editorial. Luxurious restraint, not flash.
THE DELIVERABLE
Short-form vertical videos built from the blog we give you (the storyline and script) plus premium licensed stock (Artgrid + Storyblocks, or your own premium libraries). We do not provide brand footage.
One clear narrative per video, drawn from the blog
Educational and luxurious — the viewer should learn something and feel the quality
PRODUCTION STANDARDS (firm)
Format: 9:16 vertical, 1080×1920 MP4
Length: 10–20 seconds; aim 10–15
Hook: strongest
Color grade: cool/neutral editorial — warm or golden grades are an automatic no; no heavy filters
Loop: end frame flows cleanly back to the opening
No burned-in text — our team adds captions
No watermarks of any kind, from any app
Audio: do not deliver silently. Deliver with rich sound — ASMR or natural sound, and/or a U.S. trending-style audio bed that fits the story. (We may swap the final trending track in-app at post.)
100% human editing, no AI-generated footage or subject. Hard rule, we screen for it.
REVISIONS AND QUALITY GATE
One revision round is included per video — we flag anything off-spec, you fix it
The initial gig is gated so we both know it is a fit: deliver 5, approved, paid, then 10, approved, paid, then 15, approved, paid
.Ongoing: 30 every 3 weeks in two batches of 15, paid per video on approved delivery of each batch
Quality is the only thing that earns more —consistently missing spec after a revision round ends the engagement.
LOGISTICS
Remote, ongoing, at your pace (minimum 30 every 3 weeks)
Viewer access to blogs and briefs via our secure Drive; files named according to our convention
Paid per video via Remitly on approved delivery
Reports to the Operations Manager for handoff and review
TO APPLY
Share 2–3 short-form vertical videos you personally edited (links) — storytelling/editorial preferred.
We give you a blog titled "The quiet signs your cat trusts you." What is your hook in the first 1–3 seconds, and how do you build a 12–15s educational story from it?
Which stock libraries do you use, and how do you keep footage from looking generic?
How do you approach sound — ASMR versus a trending audio bed — for a calm, luxurious pet video?
Paid sample: finalists edit one Reel from a blog as a paid sample ($9, paid whether or not we proceed). This protects both of us.
We read every application. Generic or AI-written responses will not move forward.
