SOP – Video Creation Workflow
Role:
Video Editor Goal: 7 Videos Per Week Style: Dark, Mysterious, and Interesting (Like a True Crime or History TV show).
1.The ObjectiveWe provide the Voice-Over and Script.
Your job is to find visuals that match the story.
The Vibe:We are telling dramatic stories about the past.
The video should feel a little bit intense and keep the viewer curious.
< CRITICAL>
The first 30 seconds are the most important part of the video.
Best Quality: You must put your best effort into the intro.
Fast Pacing: Use your most exciting clips, your best sound effects, and your best transitions here.
No Boredom: If the viewer gets bored in the first 30 seconds, they will leave.
Hook them immediately!
2.Where to Get Visuals (Sources)You don’t need to film anything.
Use these three sources that ll suit the voice over & script
1.StoryBlocks (Stock Video):
Do: Search for "moody," "cinematic," "dark," "mystery," "medieval," or"investigation."
Don't: Do not use clips of people in modern suits smiling or bright corporate offices. It kills the mystery vibe.
2.Freepik (High-Quality Images):
Use this for illustrations, old paper textures, or generic historical drawings to fill gaps.
3.Google Images (Specifics):
Use this when the script names a specific person (e.g., "King Richard III") or a specific place.
Rule: Only download Large/High Resolution images. No blurry pictures.
The Simple Workflow
Step 1: Audio First
Import the Voice-Over. Cut out any long pauses or mistakes.
Music: Find a track on StoryBlocks that matches the mood.
Sad/Tragic part? Use slow, emotional music.
Mystery/Secret part? Use tense, low music.
Volume: Keep music low (-20db to -25db). The voice must be clear.
Step 2: Add Visuals (Match the Words)
Listen to the sentence. Find a clip or image that matches what is being said.
Example: If the voice says "The King died in battle," show a painting of a battle or a stock video of a sword in the mud.
The Golden Rule: Movement. Never leave an image completely still. Always add a slow"Zoom In" or "Pan" (Keyframes) to keep it alive.
Step 3: Keep it Engaging
Change visuals often: Try to change the image or video every 3 to 5 seconds.
Text: If the script mentions a specific Date (1485), a Name, or a Location, put a simpletext overlay on screen so the viewer can follow along.
Step 4: Sound Effects (The "Secret Sauce")
This makes a beginner video look professional.
Add simple sounds from StoryBlocks to match the scene:
Whoosh when a picture flies in.
Boom/Hit when dramatic text appears.
Sword clash or Wind blowing if mentioned in the story.
Step 5: Check Your Work
Watch the whole video from start to finish.
Are there any black screens/empty frames?
Is the music too loud?
Did you spell the names right?
Export: 1080p MP4.
