JOB OVERVIEW

Looking for a virtual editor to join our team to help edit our videos for our YouTube channel and other social media (including TikTok/Instagram/Facebook/X)

JustKiddingFilms/JustKiddingNews is one of the original asian american YouTube channel's that gained popularity in the early 2000's. Since then they have transitioned into a hybrid between short form episode podcasts on news, current events, and general life conversations. Unfiltered style of content so looking for someone that appreciates that style of comedy and can help add value to the viewers watching experience through editing.

Requirements:
- PROVEN VIDEO EDITING EXPERIENCE : Looking for professional and experienced editors that are used to working with 4k footage, coloring, etc.
- FAST INTERNET SPEED FOR UPLOADING AND DOWNLOADING : We have multiple GBs of files needed to be downloaded and reuploaded so this is a MUST HAVE
- ATTENTION TO DETAIL : We work based off a master template but being able to blend the viewing experience to match the content relies heavily on video editors experience
- DEADLINE FOCUSED : We shoot 40+ episodes worth of content each month so being able to manage and get all of those videos edited in a timely manner is important

Preferred Qualifications but optional:
- If you are a current fan of the show it will help understand the nuances of the comedy and the format
- Experience with editing comedy, satire, or other similar styles of content
- Capcut is the original software used to edit the show but you can use whichever program you are most confident in
- Familiarity with graphic design tools like Photoshop or After Effects for custom elements.

Payment:
- Payment schedule and rate is negotiable based off experience. We will prefer to pay per video edited in the beginning but would be open to moving into a monthly salary based off of performance and ability to meet deadlines consistently

Key Responsibilities

- Edit raw video footage from our studio sessions, including multi-camera setups, audio syncing, and adding effects/transitions to enhance comedic timing.
- Incorporate graphics, text overlays, ---------- s, sound effects, and music to match our satirical, irreverent style.
- Optimize videos for YouTube (e.g., thumbnails, end screens, SEO-friendly cuts) and other platforms like Instagram Reels or TikTok clips.
- Handle basic color correction, audio mixing, and ensuring content is fast-paced and entertaining (typically 10-20 minute videos).
- Assist with archiving footage and organizing files in cloud storage.
- Occasionally edit podcast audio or short-form content for other social media channels
