JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a reliable, creative YouTube video editor to join the J.Crew Coaching content team on an ongoing basis.

The channel follows an IFBB Pro bodybuilder, coach, husband, and father documenting his “Road Back” to the competitive stage. The content blends bodybuilding, coaching education, family life, mindset, and behind-the-scenes storytelling.

WHAT YOU’LL EDIT
• Approximately 1 long-form YouTube video per week
• Typical finished video length: 8–15 minutes
• Occasional vertical clips/Shorts repurposed from the main episode
• Raw footage may include training, talking-head commentary, family/lifestyle moments, client coaching, and competition prep

WHAT WE NEED
• Strong storytelling instincts—not just flashy effects
• Clean, modern edits with strong pacing and viewer retention
• Ability to organize raw footage and build a clear story
• Tasteful use of B-roll, music, sound design, captions, zooms, and graphics
• Clean audio, basic color correction, and consistent branding
• Ability to follow direction while also bringing creative ideas
• Reliable communication and consistent turnaround times
• Comfortable editing fitness/bodybuilding content

PREFERRED SKILLS
• Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro
• Experience editing YouTube vlog/documentary or fitness content
• Understanding of hooks, retention, pattern interrupts, and emotional story beats
• Bonus: experience creating YouTube Shorts or thumbnails

WORKFLOW
• Footage and notes will be shared online
• First cut expected within 3–5 days of receiving footage
• Feedback will be clear and organized
• We are looking for a long-term working relationship with room to grow
