YouTube Video Editor Needed – Long-Term Opportunity

DIGITAL SAFETY:
I am building a professional YouTube channel called Sykes: The Digital Safety Detective.

The channel helps adults recognize scams, protect their money and identity, and stay safe online.

I am a U.S. Army veteran, retired police corporal, and former narcotics detective with 25 years of law-enforcement experience.

I will record and provide the raw talking-head footage. I need a skilled YouTube editor who can turn my recordings into polished, engaging videos designed to keep viewers watching.

Most finished videos will be approximately 6–10 minutes long.

Topics include:

Online scams
Phone and text-message scams

Email scams
Identity theft
AI scams
Banking and financial scams
Social-media scams
Digital safety

Your responsibilities will include:

Remove mistakes, pauses and dead space
Create clean jump cuts
Improve pacing and viewer retention
Clean and balance audio
Add subtle zooms when appropriate
Add professional on-screen text and graphics
Highlight important warning signs and key information
Add relevant B-roll, screenshots and visual examples
Add captions where appropriate
Add channel branding
Create strong, engaging openings
Export finished videos ready for YouTube

Bonus skills:

Turn each long-form video into 2–4 YouTube Shorts
Create YouTube thumbnails
Find royalty-free B-roll
Understand YouTube audience retention
Understand storytelling and pacing

Editing style:

Professional, trustworthy, authoritative, modern and engaging.

I do NOT want excessive ---------- s, distracting transitions or over-editing. This is a digital-safety and scam-prevention channel. The editing should support my message and credibility while keeping viewers interested.
