Overview
We’re looking for a skilled YouTube Thumbnail Designer who understands one thing above all else: getting clicks.
This is not a “make it look nice” design role.
This is a performance role.
Your job is to create thumbnails that increase CTR and drive views. If you don’t understand YouTube psychology, this is not for you.
What You’ll Be Doing
Designing high-converting YouTube thumbnails across multiple niches
Turning video concepts into clear, clickable visual ideas
Following proven thumbnail structures (emotion, contrast, curiosity, clarity)
Iterating fast based on feedback and performance
Matching styles across different brands using design profiles
Delivering revisions quickly (same-day when needed)
You will often be given:
A video title or concept
Reference thumbnails
Basic direction
Your job is to make it better.
What We’re Looking For
Strong Photoshop skills (non-negotiable)
Proven experience designing YouTube thumbnails
Understanding of:
CTR (click-through rate)
Visual hierarchy
Facial expressions and emotion
Color contrast and readability
Ability to replicate and adapt styles across channels
Fast turnaround (24 hours or less preferred)
Good communication and reliability
Bonus if you:
Have worked with creators or agencies
Understand YouTube trends and packaging
Can think strategically, not just execute
What This Is NOT
Not graphic design for logos, flyers, or social posts
Not slow, perfectionist work that takes days
Not “art-first” design — performance comes first
Work Structure
Ongoing work (not one-off)
Multiple thumbnails per week
Clear feedback and systems in place
Long-term opportunity for the right person
We run a structured workflow with assigned tasks, deadlines, and performance tracking.
How to Apply (IMPORTANT)
To be considered, you must include:
Portfolio (required)
Show your BEST thumbnails only (not 20 average ones)
Before/After Examples (if available)
Show thumbnails that improved performance
Your Process
Briefly explain how you approach a new thumbnail
Answer This:
What makes someone click a thumbnail?
If you don’t follow these steps, your application will be ignored.
Compensation is a flat rate per design
Based on experience and skill level
Opportunity for performance-based bonuses
Long-term growth potential for top performers
Final Note
We don’t need average designers.
We’re looking for someone who understands that thumbnails are one of the most important growth levers on YouTube and treats them that way.
If that’s you, apply.
