YouTube Story Producer / Writer – Family Entertainment

We are The Beverly Halls, a large family entertainment YouTube channel, and we're looking for a creative Story Producer / YouTube Writer to help develop high-retention long-form episodes.

This is not a blog-writing, SEO-writing, copywriting, or traditional screenplay position. We are looking for someone who understands how to build stories specifically for YouTube.

We need someone who can take a strong title or video concept and turn it into a filmable 10–20 minute episode with a clear promise, escalating story, memorable character moments, comedy, mystery or light suspense when appropriate, and a satisfying payoff.

Our videos are personality-driven. One of the most important parts of this role is writing for a funny, curious young protagonist who should feel like the viewer's on-screen best friend and star of the adventure — not simply a child following adults through a story.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Develop complete YouTube episode stories from concepts and titles we provide
• Establish a strong opening promise and satisfying payoff
• Create A/B/C storylines when appropriate
• Break stories into clear, filmable beats
• Build escalation so the situation meaningfully changes throughout the episode
• Give viewers a reason to keep watching for the next moment or answer
• Create situations that naturally produce funny, surprising, suspenseful and emotional family reactions
• Write dialogue and AI-character lines when needed
• Think visually — what can actually happen on camera, not simply what sounds good on paper
• Revise stories based on creative feedback
• Work ahead so our filming team has a consistent pipeline of episodes ready to produce

WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS

• YouTube retention and viewer curiosity
• Story structure, setup, escalation and payoff
• Family and kids entertainment
• Character-driven storytelling
• Comedy and light mystery/suspense
• How to turn a simple premise into a sequence of meaningful events
• How to make the main character actively drive the story rather than simply react to it

You do not need experience writing for a huge YouTube channel. Strong storytelling instincts, creativity and an understanding of entertaining video matter more to us than a perfect résumé.

IMPORTANT

We are not looking for someone to paste AI-generated scripts into a document. We already use AI tools within our production process.

We are hiring for what AI cannot replace for us: your creative judgment, story instincts, character ideas, sense of humor, ability to create unexpected turns, and your ability to develop an episode that we genuinely want to film.

SELECTION PROCESS

Shortlisted applicants may be invited to complete a brief story-development trial inside our private production Studio before a final hiring decision is made.

Trial details, instructions, timing and compensation will be provided directly to candidates selected to move forward.
