JOB OVERVIEW

We run a YouTube Shorts channel built on real adrenaline moments: near-misses, rescues, wild animal encounters, and extreme sports (sharks, ziplines, BASE jumps, bikers, divers). Our first 9 Shorts pulled 340K+ views. We're hiring ONE editor to train closely and build the team around.

THE ROLE
You'll turn source clips into 15–25 second Shorts in CapCut:
- Cut straight to the stakes — the hook lands in the first 1–2 seconds
- One clear arc per Short: build-up → danger → outcome
- Headline text: bold ALL-CAPS white with ONE gold-highlighted keyword (e.g. "KAYAKER GETS GRABBED BY OCTOPUS")
- Reaction captions timed to key moments, in asterisks (e.g. *CONFUSED*, *STEPS OFF BIKE*)
- AI voiceover on select videos, plus music and SFX
- Re-pace, reframe, and restructure every clip so the final Short is our own edit
- Export and upload finished Shorts to our shared Google Drive (we handle posting)

We provide the source clips (our researcher finds them), caption templates, reference Shorts, and daily training calls. You bring speed, taste, and real Shorts experience.

WHAT YOU NEED
- Proven YouTube Shorts / TikTok / Reels editing experience
- Strong CapCut skills
- You understand the Shorts algorithm: retention, hooks, looping, first-second drop-off
- Fluent written English
- Reliable computer and internet
- Available for a short daily call (US Central time)

WHAT YOU WON'T DO
No clip sourcing, posting, or channel management. Your focus is editing.

OUTPUT & PAY
- 2 Shorts per day; work whatever hours you want
- $8–12 USD per approved Short, depending on experience
- Raise up to $15/Short after your first 30 approved Shorts
- Only approved Shorts are paid; up to 2 revisions included
- Paid test video
- Bi-weekly payment via Wise
- Long-term role; we'll grow the editing team around our first hire
