JOB OVERVIEW

About Us
We run a high-volume media channel dedicated to Biblical History and Archaeology, currently delivering 7 long-form videos per week. Our broader business plan involves expanding this framework into dedicated channels for Roman History and the Middle Ages.

While our research and concept pipeline is established, our performance metrics are stuck in an algorithmic flatline: we are currently sitting at a 2.5% CTR and a 2:14 Average View Duration (AVD). YouTube is serving initial test impressions, but viewers are dropping off early, causing the algorithm to shelf videos at around 20 views.

We need a data-minded script specialist with a strong background or deep interest in historical narratives to restructure our pacing, rewrite hooks, and systematically pull up our click and retention metrics.

Creative Scope & Workflow Parameters
You will have clear creative autonomy to fix the narrative mechanics of our content within a strict collaborative framework.

The Scope: The business owner provides the overarching historical concepts, specific research direction, and core channel parameters.

Your Freedom: Within those parameters, you have the creative freedom to adjust the narrative flow and completely rewrite script hooks to maximize viewer retention.

The Checkpoint: You will collaborate on script adjustments and story angles, putting your optimized concepts to the owner for final sign-off before any video production begins.

Compensation & Work Expectations (USD)
Phase 1: Short-Term Setup Sprint (First 3 Weeks)
Pay: $6.00 USD / hour (Capped at 15 hours per week).

Expectation: Audit our current script structures, historical introductions, and content packaging to target and fix early viewer retention drops. Establish the collaborative template.

Phase 2: Ongoing Monthly Retainer (Maintenance & Optimization)
Pay: Flat $120.00 USD / month (Maintains your exact base rate of $6.00/hour).

Expected Hours: 5 hours per week (20 hours per month total).

What the Retainer Covers:

Script Optimization: Reviewing and refining the hooks, pacing, and core angles for our full output schedule of 7 long-form scripts per week before they go to production.

Weekly Data Audit: Spending 30 minutes every week analyzing YouTube audience retention graphs and drop-off points from recently uploaded videos, then directly applying those adjustments to the next batch of scripts.

Velocity Maintenance: Ensuring your optimized script drafts consistently meet our weekly output schedule without delays.

Progressive Monthly Performance Bonuses
Your bonuses scale as your ongoing optimizations directly lift our channel analytics:

Tier 1 Milestone: Reach and sustain a channel average of 3.5% CTR and 3:30 AVD.

Payout: +$50.00 USD / month on top of your retainer.

Tier 2 Milestone: Reach and sustain a channel average of 5.0% CTR and 4:30 AVD.

Payout: +$100.00 USD / month on top of your retainer (Replaces Tier 1).

The Partner Unlock: When the channel crosses the YouTube Partner Program threshold of 4,000 cumulative watch hours under your optimization:

Payout: A one-time $150.00 USD cash bonus.

Requirements
A strong, proven grasp of historical or educational storytelling—you understand how to make ancient contexts compelling and keep a viewer engaged.

Deep knowledge of narrative structure—you know exactly why a viewer leaves a history video at the 30-second mark and how to restructure a hook to prevent it.

Experience working directly with YouTube analytics, specifically audience retention graphs and CTR metrics.

Clean, clear communication habits for presenting script modifications before approval.

How to Apply — Mandatory Applicant Filtering
GATE 1 (The Headline Filter): Your application headline or the very first line of your cover letter must begin exactly with the code word: [Mesopotamia Optimization]. If this exact phrase is missing, your application will be instantly auto-deleted by our filtering script without being read.

GATE 2 (The Technical Scenario & Target Word):
To prove you are a real specialist who reads data and instructions thoroughly, paste your cover letter along with a direct response to this specific scenario:

A viewer clicks on one of our biblical history videos and drops off at the 15-second mark. Explain your exact strategy for changing the script hook to keep them watching past 3:30.

At the absolute end of your response, you must write the phrase: "Target Metric: Audience Retention".
