JOB OVERVIEW

Remote | Ongoing | 5 Videos Per Week (5–8 Minutes Each)

We are building a structured educational YouTube channel in the healthcare/business niche and are looking for a strategic editor who understands:
• Retention-driven editing
• Copyright & fair use
• YouTube AdSense & monetization safety
• Healthcare content sensitivity guidelines
• Basic analytics interpretation

This is not a basic editing role.
This is a strategic production role within a monetized YouTube operation.

What You’ll Edit
• 5–8 minute commentary videos
• Reaction-style clip integrations
• Educational breakdown segments
• Visual overlays & text emphasis
• Occasional healthcare-related visuals

Core Responsibilities

Retention-First Editing
• Remove filler immediately
• Cut dead air
• Maintain engagement every 5–15 seconds
• Add clean pattern interrupts (zoom, text, framing changes)
• Reinforce hooks visually

Copyright & Fair Use Knowledge (Critical)

You must understand:
• YouTube Content ID system
• Fair use basics for commentary
• Reused content policy
• How to strip copyrighted audio
• How to replace music with licensed or YouTube-safe audio
• How to prevent copyright strikes

Monetization & Advertiser-Friendly Awareness

You must understand:
• What triggers the yellow dollar sign
• Limited ads vs full monetization
• Sensitive content flags
• Avoiding reused-content violations
• Keeping content advertiser-safe

Healthcare / Medical Content Sensitivity (Very Important)

Some videos may reference or show:
• Clinical procedures
• Medical/dental visuals
• Treatment explanations

You must be able to:
• Recognize when footage may be considered graphic
• Blur or crop appropriately
• Remove unnecessary close-ups of blood or invasive procedures
• Avoid content that may violate YouTube’s violent or graphic content policies
• Maintain educational framing (not sensational)
• Keep content compliant and advertiser-safe

Understanding how to present healthcare content without triggering demonetization is essential.

Analytics & Optimization

You should be comfortable:
• Reviewing audience retention graphs
• Identifying drop-off points
• Suggesting formatting changes
• Improving hook pacing
• Comparing high-performing vs low-performing formats
• Offering data-based suggestions

You do not need to be the strategist — but you must think strategically.

Required Experience
• Experience editing YouTube commentary or educational content
• Experience with monetized YouTube channels preferred
• Strong understanding of copyright & Content ID systems
• Familiarity with YouTube advertiser-friendly guidelines
• Ability to interpret YouTube Studio analytics
• Professional editing software (Premiere, Final Cut, CapCut Desktop, etc.)
• Strong English comprehension

Not a Fit If
• You only edit basic vlogs
• You’ve never worked on monetized channels
• You don’t understand Content ID
• You don’t know how to handle sensitive medical visuals
• You require constant micromanagement

How To Apply

Please include:
1. 2–3 examples of 5–10 minute YouTube videos you’ve edited
2. A short explanation of how you would improve retention in a 6-minute commentary video
3. Confirmation that you understand YouTube Content ID, AdSense rules, and advertiser-friendly guidelines
4. Your turnaround time for a 5–8 minute video
5. Your rate per video
6. Include the word “Compliance” in your subject line

Applications without the keyword will not be reviewed.
