About Us
JustInsurance LLC has helped over 30,000 insurance agents get licensed and works with 1,000+ agency partners across the United States. We are now building out our YouTube presence — the JustInsurance Channel — into the #1 destination for licensed insurance agents and agency owners who want to grow their income.
Our channel is built on an interview format: we sit down with top-producing agency owners and pull out the stories, numbers, and tactics nobody else in the insurance YouTube space is publishing. We operate on the Channel Jumpstart (CJS) methodology developed by Derral Eves, and we work directly with Derral as our YouTube coach.
We are hiring one person to run this channel end to end — strategy, analytics, operations, and editing.
The Role
You will own the JustInsurance YouTube channel. Day to day, that means you d
This is not a “make my video look pretty” job. This is a channel manager job that requires editing chops. If you are a great editor but do not want to think about analytics, retention curves, traffic source breakdowns, and bucket strategy, this is not the role. If you are a great strategist but cannot cut a 60-minute interview down to a tight 28-minute story, also not the role.
You need to be both.
Your First 2–3 Weeks: Channel Jumpstart Onboarding
Before you touch a single video for us, you will spend your first 2–3 weeks studying Channel Jumpstart (CJS), the YouTube growth course built by Derral Eves. We will enroll you in the course at our expense. CJS is the operating system this channel runs on — every decision we make about buckets, titles, thumbnails, retention, traffic sources, and viewer journey traces back to it.
During this window, your job is to learn — not to publish.
Work through all 61 lessons across the 8 CJS sections
Take detailed notes; we will review them with you weekly
Apply each section to our existing channel — map our videos into buckets, audit our title structures, identify our baselines, flag where we are violating CJS principles
By the end of week 3, you should be able to defend a strategic recommendation to Justin using the exact CJS framework (e.g., “our average views per viewer is 1.81; per CJS that is healthy, but it is dropping — here is why”)
Important: CJS teaches you our methodology. It does not teach you what YouTube is. You must already be fluent in the fundamentals — YouTube Studio, analytics, thumbnails, retention, CTR — before you walk in the door. The CJS training is a layer on top of that fluency, not a substitute for it.
What You Will Own
Strategy & Analytics
Run the CJS Plan ? Execute ? Analyze ? Adjust cycle on a continuous loop
Pull and analyze YouTube analytics twice per month via Adzviser and YouTube Studio
Track performance against our own baselines — CTR by traffic source, average view duration, average views per viewer, returning vs. new viewer ratios, subscribers gained per video
Identify which content buckets are working, which need refinement, and where the gaps are
Recommend content pivots based on data, not vibes
Maintain bucket discipline — every video must fit a defined bucket with consistent keyword structure
Monitor competitor channels (Cody Askins, David Duford, Life Insurance Academy, Dana Nesen) for emerging patterns and report back
Video Editing
Cut 40–60 minute raw interview recordings into 25–40 minute final episodes
Follow the V4 Interleaved 3-Act structure: cold open ? before state ? milestone-tactic progression ? system at scale ? resolution
Build cold opens that fuse a specific dollar amount with an emotional gut punch
Keep every income number fused to its tactical “how” — never separate them
Add on-screen graphics for every dollar amount, activity benchmark, and lead spend / ROI
Layer sound design and music cues to match the emotional beat of each section
Map pattern interrupts so no talking-head segment runs longer than 90–120 seconds without a visual break
Extract 3–5 Shorts per long-form episode, each ending on an open loop that drives back to the full video
Thumbnails & Titles
Design 3 thumbnail variations for every upload before publish
Run thumbnail tests at 3h, 7h, 12h, 24h, and 48h checkpoints; swap when CTR falls below baseline
Lock titles to the bucket keyword structure; never deviate without strategic reason
Refresh thumbnails on older videos (80–150+ days) when suggested traffic shows opportunity
Publishing & Ops
Manage the publishing calendar (target cadence: 2 long-form + 3 Shorts per week)
Write and publish descriptions, timestamps, end screens, and pinned comments
Build and maintain playlists for each content bucket
Coordinate with Justin on guest scheduling and pre-interview prep
Send guest questionnaires 48–72 hours before recordings
Manage Riverside / Zoom recording sessions and file handoff
Use Opus Clip and Riverside for the Shorts extraction workflow
Use TurboScribe for transcription and flag content gaps for supplemental recording
What Success Looks Like
First 2–3 weeks: Channel Jumpstart onboarding. You complete all 61 CJS lessons, take structured notes, and audit our existing channel against the framework. By the end of week 3, you can explain our bucket structure, our baselines, and our biggest gaps in CJS language.
First 30 days: CJS training is done. You have watched our top 20 videos, mapped our existing content into buckets, and identified the three biggest opportunities. You have cut your first episode and it follows the V4 structure cleanly.
First 90 days: You are publishing 2 long-form episodes per week without missing dates. Average view duration is climbing. Returning viewer ratio is moving toward 30%. Our first Income Reports episode is live.
First 6 months: Channel monthly views are growing, CTR is above 6%, average views per viewer is 2.0+, and we are adding 300+ subscribers per month. You are spotting patterns in the analytics that Justin is not seeing and bringing them up unprompted.
Who You Are
Required — You Walk In With This
These are non-negotiable. CJS training will sharpen your strategy. It will not teach you what YouTube is. If any of the following is news to you, this is not the role:
3+ years editing long-form YouTube content (interview, documentary, or vlog format — not corporate)
Fluent in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve
Comfortable with motion graphics for text overlays, lower thirds, and income progression visuals (After Effects helpful, not required)
Fluent in YouTube Studio. You already know what CTR, average view duration, audience retention (absolute and relative), impressions, and traffic source breakdowns mean — and how to act on them.
Strong thumbnail instincts. You can look at three thumbnails and explain which will outperform and why. You already know that face + emotion + centered text usually wins, and you have shipped thumbnails that worked.
You have written and tested YouTube titles before. You understand keyword consistency, curiosity gaps, and psychological triggers.
Strong English, written and spoken. You will be reading transcripts, writing descriptions, and occasionally jumping on calls with Justin.
Self-directed. You do not need someone to tell you what to do next. You read the data, make a decision, and execute.
Detail-obsessed. You catch when a guest says “ninety thousand” but a previous segment said “eighty-five thousand” and you flag it.
Bonus Points
You have worked on a channel that grew past 50K subscribers
You have used Adzviser, TubeBuddy, VidIQ, or similar analytics tools
You understand the U.S. insurance industry (final expense, life, Medicare, P&C) — not required but a real edge
You have studied the work of Derral Eves, MrBeast’s editing team, or other top-tier YouTube operators
How You Work
Direct. You tell me what to do, why, and what is next. No long preambles.
Story-first. You understand that on this channel, story and tactics are the same thing. A money number without its “how” is just bragging.
Verbatim discipline. When we say a cold open is built from transcript quotes, you use the literal transcript. No paraphrasing, no smoothing.
CJS-aligned. When a general YouTube best practice conflicts with CJS methodology, you follow CJS.
Owns mistakes. When a thumbnail bombs or a title misses, you flag it, swap it, and report what you changed.

How to Apply
Send the following to
Resume with channel links you have edited or managed.
Three video samples — at least one should be a long-form interview you cut from raw footage. Tell us what was in the raw vs. what made the final.
Written response (300 words max): Watch one of our recent JustInsurance episodes. Tell us one thing you would change about the edit and why — referencing a specific CJS principle.
Loom video (5 minutes max): Walk us through your favorite edit you have ever done. Show us the timeline. Explain why you made three specific choices.
We will not respond to generic applications. The Loom and written response are how we filter.
