We're looking for an experienced video editor who specializes in *direct-response YouTube ads* using *talking head footage.*
Your job:
- Turn raw talking head footage into punchy, high-retention ad creatives.
- Apply pacing, captions, sound design, and pattern interrupts that make viewers stop scrolling and take action.
These ads promote digital products — online courses, coaching programs, and live webinars — so understanding *sales-driven storytelling* is crucial.
# Responsibilities
- Edit 2-3min YouTube ads designed for direct-response.
- Hook viewers in the *first 3 seconds* using jump cuts, zooms, captions, and visual pattern interrupts.
- Keep pacing fast, clean, and punchy to maintain retention.
- Add motion graphics, kinetic text, and sound design that enhance engagement — not distract.
- Optimize for ad performance, not entertainment or cinematic polish.
- Collaborate with our team for feedback rounds and revisions focused on improving conversions.
# Must-Have Skills
- Proven experience editing *YouTube ads or direct-response social media ads.*
- Mastery of editing techniques that drive attention and retention:
- Jump cuts
- Zooms and punch-ins
- Kinetic captions
- Pattern interrupts
- Sound effects and music for pacing
- Strong understanding of *direct-response marketing.*
- Ability to make *talking head footage dynamic and engaging.*
- Fluent in English for caption accuracy and context.
If your experience is mainly in vlogs, weddings, cinematic films, or documentaries — this role isn’t a fit.
