JOB OVERVIEW

Overview:
We are a US-based restoration company looking for an experienced Xactimate Estimator who understands how to build, justify, and support insurance estimates.

This role requires hands-on experience with Xactimate (mitigation and repair) and preferably experience using MICA in an insurance estimating workflow.

You will be working directly with photos, Matterport scans, and damage reports to create accurate, approval-ready estimates and communicate with TPAs, adjusters, and insurance program platforms.

This is not an entry-level role. We are looking for candidates who have real experience in insurance estimating environments.

How We Work:
You will receive assignments that include:
• Photos of the loss
• Matterport scans (used for sketching and measurements in Xactimate)
• A short report summarizing the damage

From this information, you will build a complete estimate in Xactimate and support the approval process.

Key Responsibilities:
• Write mitigation and repair estimates in Xactimate
• Review assignments and communicate with insurance carriers and program platforms
• Communicate with TPAs and adjusters to reach approved scopes of work
• Prepare and submit supplements to insurance companies and adjusters
• Create subcontractor scopes of work based on approved estimates
• Assist project managers by:
• Reviewing estimates
• Explaining line items clearly and accurately
• Supporting field teams as needed
• Maintain organized and well-documented claim files

Important: Documentation Discipline Matters
This role requires more than just writing estimates.

You must be comfortable with:
• Writing clear and structured estimate notes
• Justifying scope and pricing to adjusters
• Revising estimates based on feedback
• Following insurance and TPA requirements
• Focusing on what gets approved, not just what is written

Required Experience:
• Xactimate experience (REQUIRED)
• Experience writing both mitigation and repair/rebuild estimates
• Experience working directly with insurance carriers, TPAs, and adjusters
• Experience handling supplements, revisions, and scope negotiations
• Ability to build complete estimates from photos, Matterport scans, and damage reports

MICA Experience:
• Experience using MICA is strongly preferred and will be prioritized
• Candidates with hands-on MICA experience in insurance workflows will be given preference

Compensation:
• 2–3 years experience: $600 – $900/month
• 3–5 years experience: $900 – $1,200/month
• 5+ years (advanced estimator): $1,200 – $1,600/month

Compensation depends on experience and skill level.
