JOB OVERVIEW

Summit Restoration & Construction is seeking an experienced Restoration Estimator and Xactimate Specialist to provide remote estimating support as an independent contractor.

This is not a general virtual assistant or construction estimating position. Applicants must have direct experience preparing Xactimate estimates for water, fire, mold, mitigation, and reconstruction insurance claims.

Independent Contractor Details:
Long-term remote independent contractor opportunity
Approximately 40 hours per week
Must be available during agreed-upon working hours that overlap with Phoenix, Arizona business hours
Compensation paid in U.S. dollars based on experience
Payments made biweekly through Wise
Contractor is responsible for providing their own computer, reliable high-speed internet, quiet workspace, and any personal tax obligations

Required Experience:
At least three years of experience in the U.S. insurance restoration industry
At least two years of hands-on experience writing estimates in Xactimate
Experience creating estimates from photographs, sketches, scopes, Matterport or DocuSketch files, moisture documentation, and other project records
Strong understanding of water mitigation, fire restoration, mold remediation, and reconstruction
Experience preparing supplements and responding to adjuster or TPA questions
Ability to review carrier scopes and identify missing or incorrect line items
Understanding of Xactimate pricing, line-item documentation, labor minimums, equipment charges, and supporting notes
Strong written and spoken English
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate professionally with project managers and adjusters

Previous experience with a restoration contractor, insurance carrier, TPA, SERVPRO, Paul Davis, ServiceMaster, PuroClean, BELFOR, ATI, BluSky, or a similar organization is highly preferred.

Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate, detailed, and carrier-ready Xactimate estimates
Write estimates for mitigation and reconstruction projects
Review project photographs, measurements, sketches, moisture documentation, and scopes
Prepare supplements and estimate revisions
Review insurance scopes for missing or incorrect items
Provide appropriate line-item notes and supporting documentation
Assist with responses to adjusters, carriers, and TPA reviewers
Follow program and carrier estimating requirements
Track estimate submissions, revisions, approvals, and outstanding items
Maintain accurate job information in MICA and other company systems
Support project managers with estimating-related questions
Help improve estimate turnaround times, claim approvals, and job profitability

Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate understands the complete insurance restoration process, from the initial loss and mitigation through reconstruction, supplements, final invoicing, and claim completion.

We are looking for someone who can independently prepare accurate estimates—not someone who has only performed administrative work around restoration claims.
