We’re Larkin Media — a fast-growing digital local media company behind Leander Scoop and Round Rock Scoop. We move quick, think big, and build local.
Now we’re looking for a kickass writer to join our team. Someone who doesn’t just write well — they think well, work smart, and thrive in a startup environment where expectations are high and the pace is fast.
We're a start up in the local media space, and we want to be one of the biggest. On we're on track. You'd be getting in early at a startup with incredible potential.
???? You Should Be:
A fluent English speaker with exceptional writing and editing skills. NON-NEGIOTIABLE
Fluent in AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Notion AI, etc. (Bonus if you can prompt like a pro)
Able to take initiative, self-edit, and push creative boundaries
Comfortable juggling multiple tasks and shifting priorities
Online and available during Texas business hours (we're a remote team, but we roll Central Time)
???? What You'll Do:
Write, edit, and optimize content for newsletters, social, websites, and more
Use AI tools to draft, refine, brainstorm, and accelerate workflows
Work closely with our creative and editorial team to build bold, useful, local media
Handle feedback like a champ and always aim to raise the bar
Expect to be creating an incredible amount of content for all our local media brands, as you'll be leveraging AI to cut your writing/editing time by 90%
