Company Overview. BKG runs 25+ home-renovation brands on one WordPress Multisite (plus WooCommerce shops) — including Sanitairstudio (bathrooms) and Tegelstudio (tiles). We need a developer who builds a strong master theme and keeps many child sites consistent and fast.
Job Description. You build and maintain the Multisite master theme, roll out brand child-sites via tokens, keep Core Web Vitals green, and build WooCommerce shops. You think about all 25 sites at once, not one at a time. Most of your time is on the wider BKG Multisite, with our bathroom brand (Sanitairstudio) as the biggest single site.
Major Functions.
• Build and maintain the Multisite master theme.
• Roll out brand child-sites via tokens (logo, colors, brand name) without duplicating work.
• Keep Core Web Vitals green across the footprint; optimize performance.
• Build and maintain WooCommerce shops; keep child sites consistent and up to date.
Required Skills.
• 3+ years WordPress including Multisite.
• Strong page-builder (Bricks/Elementor) and theme work.
• Performance optimization (Core Web Vitals); clean, maintainable builds.
• Reliable written English.
• Nice-to-have: WooCommerce at scale, ACF, basic SEO/schema, Git.
Availability. ~40 hrs/week, with some daily overlap with European mornings. Flexible otherwise.
Expectations. You build reusable, token-driven systems — one source, many brands — and you keep performance and consistency front of mind across all child sites. You document what you build so others can maintain it.
Working Conditions / Salary. $637/month, with room to grow for the right person. Long-term, stable role.
Bonuses. Paid Time Off after 1.5 months · salary reviews every 2–3 months · professional-development budget · second monitor after 6 months · new laptop after 2 years.
How to Apply. Start your message with the word “MULTISITE” so we know you read the full post. Then, briefly:
1. Describe a Multisite (or multi-brand) project you built: roughly how many sites, and how you kept them consistent.
2. We push design changes from one master theme to 25+ child sites. In 2–3 sentences: how do you roll out a change to all of them without breaking individual brand customizations?
3. One concrete way you improved page speed / Core Web Vitals on a real site: what was slow, what you changed, the result.
4. (Optional) A link to a site or portfolio. Only what exists — don’t build anything for this.
We read every application that starts with the codeword and answers the questions specifically. Generic or copy-paste replies aren’t considered.
