WordPress Website Developer + SEO & AI Content Specialist — Long-Term Opportunity

Part-Time / Full-Time | Temporary to Permanent | UK Working Hours | Weekly Pay

Hi, I’m David.

I run an established digital agency that has been operating for 17 years, and we are expanding rapidly.

I’m looking for a talented WordPress Website Developer who understands that building a website is about much more than simply making it look good.

You need to understand SEO, local SEO, website structure and AI-assisted content creation, and know how to build websites designed to generate real results for local businesses.

What You’ll Be Doing

A large proportion of our clients are local service businesses, so our websites are heavily optimised around services + locations.

For example:

Carpet Cleaning London
Carpet Cleaning Croydon
Electrician Manchester
Electrician Stockport
Plumber Birmingham

You should understand how to build these websites properly, including H1/H2/H3 structure, title tags, meta descriptions, internal linking, URLs, schema, image optimisation, calls to action, site speed and on-page SEO.

You’ll also need to be highly competent using AI to research, plan and create high-quality website content.

We are particularly interested in creating websites and content that perform well not only in traditional Google search, but are also structured to maximise visibility and citations across AI search and answer platforms such as ChatGPT, Google AI experiences, Perplexity and other emerging platforms.

We don’t want someone who simply asks AI to “write an SEO page” and copies and pastes the result.

You need to understand search intent, entities, topical relevance, local relevance, useful original content and how to edit AI-generated material into genuinely good website copy.

Experience with GoHighLevel (GHL) would be a major advantage.

This Could Become a Very Long-Term Position

I haven’t advertised for new staff for more than a year.

Instead, as we’ve grown, I’ve been giving additional hours to my existing team. We have now expanded to the point where I need another excellent person to take some of the pressure off them.

We’ve been in the agency space for 17 years.

We have clients who have been with us for 1, 2, 5, 10 and even 17 years.

I also have tea ---------- mbers who have worked with me for 1, 2, 3 and 6 years.

That should tell you something about the type of company we are.

I believe I’m a fair employer. Everyone is paid weekly, every Friday, and if you are good at what you do, reliable and trustworthy, this could become a secure position for many years.

Communication Is Extremely Important

We work predominantly UK hours, although there can be some flexibility where needed.

I communicate with my team regularly through WhatsApp, so you must be responsive during working hours.

We look after real businesses, and sometimes clients need a quick answer. I therefore need someone who communicates clearly and doesn’t disappear for hours when something important needs attention.

You must also have good written and spoken English.

Final Stage

I will shortlist the strongest applicants and expect to invite approximately two candidates to complete a small test build.

The test will only be completed on a test website, staging website or new test page — never on a live client website.

We do not profit from test work.

The purpose is simply to verify that your practical ability matches your portfolio and application.

I have had too many experiences in the past where someone's claimed ability simply didn't match their actual work. A short practical test allows both of us to know whether the role is the right fit before making a longer-term commitment.

I already have several fantastic tea ---------- mbers in the Philippines, and I’ve had a great experience building a team there.

I value the work ethic, loyalty and commitment I’ve experienced from my Filipino tea ---------- mbers, and I’m very happy to be recruiting in the Philippines again.

I haven’t needed to recruit for over a year because I prefer to look after good people, give them more hours and keep them with us for the long term rather than constantly replacing staff.

Our growth has now reached the point where my existing team has more than enough work, and I need to bring another talented person onboard.
