WordPress Developer
Job Title: WordPress Developer & Website Support Specialist for a UK Creative Agency
Type: Full-time (40 hrs/week)
Hours: UK business hours, Monday–Friday
Please read carefully — this role is roughly 60% client support and 40% build work.

About the agency
You'll be joining a UK design, web and marketing consultancy founded over thirty years ago, working with clients across a range of sectors including education. Their approach is to understand each client's ethos and needs first, then deliver tailored, professional design and development solutions.

About the role
Be clear about this before applying: you will not spend your days building new sites from scratch. The majority of the role is working through incoming client support requests - content updates, fixing reported errors, populating calendars and pages, answering "how do I…" questions. Some of it is repetitive. When the development pipeline is busy, you'll be pulled onto new builds. If steady, detail-oriented support work doesn't appeal to you, this is not the right role. (this role is roughly 60% client support and 40% build work.)

What you'll be doing
• Handling client support requests via a shared support inbox — diagnosing, resolving, and confirming completion
• Replying to UK clients directly by email in clear, professional written English, and being confident and professional on phone/video calls when needed
• Designing, building, and maintaining websites using WordPress, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
• Managing projects from concept through delivery, meeting deadlines and quality standards
• Optimising websites for performance, speed, and SEO best practices
• Using Photoshop (or similar) to edit and prepare graphics for web use
• Working closely with the agency's Web Director as your single point of contact

What we're looking for
• Demonstrable WordPress development experience ( you must provide live URLs of WordPress sites you have personally built or worked on )
• Proficiency in WordPress, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
• Working knowledge of SEO principles and analytics tools
• Comfortable with Photoshop or similar design tools
• Strong organisational and time-management skills; able to run projects independently
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability - you'll be given a vague complaint and expected to work out the cause
• Excellent written English, and a confident, professional phone/video manner. This is non-negotiable; you will be communicating directly with UK clients
• Genuine willingness to do the routine work as well as the interesting work
• Experience with SiteGround hosting or similar cPanel environments is an advantage
• Reliable: own computer, fiber internet, backup power/internet arrangement
