JOB OVERVIEW

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled WordPress Developer to join our team. While the primary focus of this role is to perform maintenance and improvements on pre-existing WordPress and e-commerce websites, this individual will be responsible for developing new WordPress sites and working on other platforms (Squarespace, Wix, etc.). This role requires a high degree of digital literacy and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintenance and Optimization: Update and maintain existing WordPress websites, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security.
• New Development: Develop new WordPress sites and features.
• E-commerce: Maintain, optimize, and perform smaller-scale development tasks on Shopify and WordPress-connected e-commerce sites.
• Technical SEO: Conduct website audits to identify technical issues affecting SEO, optimize website structure and content for search engines, and stay updated with the latest SEO trends and algorithms.
• Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Quickly identify and resolve technical issues and performance problems on WordPress sites.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with development teams and stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet business needs.
• Technical Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for systems and processes.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong experience in WordPress development, themes, and plugins.
• Proficient in PHP, MySQL, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience working with e-commerce platforms like BigCommerce, Shopify, and WordPress-connected e-commerce sites.
• Knowledge and experience with technical SEO, including website audits, on-page optimization, and an understanding of search engine algorithms.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team approach.
• Familiar with responsive design and development best practices.
• Flexibility to adapt to new technologies and challenges.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred but not mandatory).
