JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a WordPress Developer to work with us on an independent contractor basis.

This is not an employment role. The engagement is outcome-driven, with clearly defined deliverables and timelines. The contractor is expected to work independently, manage their own schedule, and remain reasonably available during agreed working hours for coordination and reviews.

We are looking for someone with solid, hands-on experience working with WordPress on real projects. This includes building, customizing, and maintaining WordPress websites beyond basic theme or plugin setup. You should be comfortable working on live or client-facing websites and taking responsibility for the quality and stability of your work.

The role requires a strong understanding of WordPress core concepts, including themes, templates, hooks, and the admin workflow. You should be able to work confidently with PHP in a WordPress context, and have practical knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to customize layouts, fix responsiveness issues, and troubleshoot front-end or back-end problems as they arise. A working understanding of how WordPress interacts with its database and common hosting environments is important.

You should also be comfortable configuring and working with commonly used plugins and tools, handling routine maintenance tasks such as updates, backups, migrations, and basic performance or security improvements. Experience working with page builders is acceptable, as long as you understand the underlying structure and are not fully dependent on them.

We value reliability, clear communication, and consistency. This role is best suited for someone who takes ownership of delivery, estimates effort realistically, communicates clearly when there are blockers, and does not require close supervision to move work forward.

The contractor will use their own tools and methods and will not be entitled to employee benefits. Long-term collaboration is possible based on performance and mutual fit.
