About this project: YT3 is my 3rd YouTube channel, but you will start with a blog in a customized WordPress theme, using Amazon links to a curated collection of products. Codename is Careful Shopper (CS)

Most important job skills:
[1] Persistence! Do not give up, do not quit, do not disappear, ask clarifying questions, keep working to overcome challenges. Example: If our TEAMS meeting video feed is blocked by a network issue, we continue by email and maybe a voice connection through TEAMS. If one of us loses electric power in a storm, we send a quick message by text.

[2] Following instructions! Each person's work must match the needs of other group members for filename format, style sheet (fonts, colors, page layouts, document formats, etc.) and communication.
Example: FOR ALL DATES AND TIMES such as Invoice (days/times you worked) or setting a date/time for meeting, always list the California time first, and add 15 minutes to any time that is noon or midnight. Your invoice might say:
TEAMS meeting, 3 hours, CA Wed 12:15pm to 3:15pm = PH Thurs 3:15am to 6:15am

ASSIGNMENT DETAILS: Create a blog post to explain several items whose features combine to provide strong protection from mosquito bites. Spend no more than 3 hours completing a blog page with lorem ipsum text (where data are not supplied); otherwise use the exact text attached in WORD about the dangers of mosquito bites. Illustrations: NO AI images, NO images that violate copyright. Select stock images from ---------- and download the watermarked preview picture to use for your application test. Credit only the source and illustration serial number near the edge of the picture: Dreamstime_ ---------- >> To complete the assignment, send a screen shot of the completed web page as PNG or PDF as an email attachment. Use the proper format for SUBJECT: Phil VA Gig YourName: INVOICE Careful Shopper blog page

If you are hired to continue developing WordPress pages for affiliate marketing, your hours will include some online meetings using TEAMS or ZOOM, connecting with Supervisor in California, which is 15 hours behind Philippine time in summer, and 16 hours behind Philippine time in Nov-March. You will not need to show your face, but you will need to share a screen for our collaborative work.
Hours might change depending on your schedule, and you can suggest your hourly salary.

Current Project, YT3 (my 3rd YouTube channel) will start with a WordPress Blog for "Careful Shopper" blending consumer education and Affiliate Marketing. Each blog post for Careful Shopper starts with a description of a serious problem that cannot be solved with one product alone. The consumer education is presented by Mrs. Shopper (faceless channel but has personality). She explains the features that buyers should check on each product, and explains how to combine purchases so the features work together for better results. Later, we will convert the blog posts to faceless videos with voice-over and links in the description to products for sale.

HOW TO APPLY: Start with this (revised) paid GIG job to complete your application. After reading the applications, Supervisor will hire someone for a Part-Time Job or for continued short assignments as Gigs. IMPORTANT: Please read carefully before applying. Use the REPLY procedure at the end of this description. This paid application is a TEST of your ability to FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS as you demonstrate that you can use WordPress to make a low-friction buying interface with all required features, and submit it properly as a link in an email with the required information, sent to the correct email address. You will not be paid unless you follow all instructions carefully and completely. Suggestion: Get a friend to double-check your work!

After the first assignment (test project) most of the job is refining a simple page template for affiliate marketing using WordPress, and using each blog post to eduate shoppers about meaningful features on a curated collection of related products. Assume you are working for a company called CAREFUL SHOPPER that does affiliate marketing for GROUPS of products that work together for one buyer.

__[1] We will choose a target audience that will need to buy 4-5 items at one time, and list those items. Choose one of these examples: Shopper just got a new dog, cat, baby, apartment, or a new hobby, and needs to purchase several items.

__ [2] We will choose 4 or 5 products that this shopper might buy on Amazon Marketplace (items sold by individuals or companies that use Amazon to advertise, NOT products that are made and sold directly by Amazon.) EXAMPLES: New dog might need a food bowl, collar, leash, kennel, bed, toys. New indoor cat might need a food bowl, something to climb or scratch with claws, collar with ID tag, comb or brush, and toys. For each product category, give the buyer 2-3 choices of high-quality products that are highly rated. Your page structure should show the categories, then have links to show the product choices for each category. Use a text caption to describe the features of each product near the product photo. Examples: Pet toys can use a rechargeable battery, or work without a battery. [choice 1: This Bouncy Ball uses a rechargeable battery to light up when it bounces. ] [choice 2: This Feeder Ball holds kibble that falls out one at a time as the ball is rolled around. No battery required.]

The guidelines for page Layout are based on these priories:
__[3a] Web page design must work well on all kinds of devices and platforms (Windows/PC, Apple/Mac, Linux). The WordPress layout must load quickly, work on any common platform.

__ [3b] Smooth buying experience: The WordPress page should interact smoothly with Amazon Marketplace, so a buyer can go back and forth from the CAREFUL SHOPPER page to the specific products on Amazon Marketplace, ready to put items into a shopping cart. Your goal is to make the buyer's interaction easy, reducing friction and encouraging sales.

Universal Design: Comfortable for people who have common disabilities (alt text for visually impaired, clear layout and navigation for dyslexia, wide space around buttons for mobility impaired). Design must be static (no animations) and super-easy for anyone to navigate intuitively on any device. NO images sliding over text, NO text sliding over images, NO tiny faint gray text over white background, NO slide shows. See: ----------

__[3c] Universal Design to include features that help shoppers who are color blind, or who have other challenges (poor control of the cursor, limited English, etc. )

__[4] Legally required disclosures for affiliate marketing must appear in the proper places. The general disclosure must appear before the Amazon disclosure, and both must appear before the arrow or button or link that the shopper will click to see or buy the product.. Exact text:
"If you buy products through these links, Careful Shopper may earn a sales commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate, I may earn a commission on qualifying purchases. "

After your page design is complete, with proper disclosures and links to product choices by category for the (imaginary) target buyer:

__[5] Upload the WordPress page on your own website or some place where I can see it and test it easily, without registering for a separate account.

__[6] Send an email to me with the proper SUBJECT header, and the information listed below.

REPLY TO: Eve Sutton ----------
