JOB OVERVIEW

Read this first

We build custom HTML blocks for WordPress sites. Hand-crafted, self-contained sections of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript that drop into WordPress and make our clients' sites look and perform miles better than the templated junk everyone else ships.

And we build them with Claude AI in the loop. That's our edge. We move fast because we let AI do the heavy lifting. But AI is only as good as the person driving it, and that's where you come in.

We're not looking for someone to reinvent front-end from scratch every time. We're looking for someone who already knows HTML/CSS cold, can look at a block of code and instantly know if it's clean or garbage, and is hungry to get even better at using AI to build faster than anyone thought possible.

If you just started learning to code, this isn't the one. If you're a badass who's excited to pair with AI and push what's possible, let's talk.

What you'll actually do
Build custom HTML / CSS / JS blocks for WordPress sites: hero sections, service grids, comparison tables, CTA bars, FAQ sections, sliders, and more.
Work hand-in-hand with Claude AI to generate, refine, and ship code fast. You steer it, you catch its mistakes, you make it production-ready.
Read AI-generated code critically. Spot the bloat, fix the broken responsiveness, tighten the CSS, and make it bulletproof.
Write clean, self-contained, theme-proof blocks that drop into any WordPress site and just work. No external dependencies, no theme conflicts, no mess.
Make everything fast, responsive, accessible, and pixel-perfect across every device and browser.
Get trained up on our systems and workflow. We'll invest in you, and we expect you to soak it up and run.
You're the badass we want if:
You genuinely know HTML & CSS. Flexbox, Grid, responsive design, the works. Not "I watched a tutorial." You can build a clean, responsive section from a blank file.
You're comfortable working inside WordPress: adding custom HTML blocks, dropping code into pages, and making sure it plays nice with the theme.
You can read code and know instantly whether it's good or bad.
You're comfortable with (or fired up about) using AI tools like Claude to build faster. You see AI as a superpower, not a threat.
You've got solid JavaScript fundamentals (vanilla JS, DOM, basic interactivity).
You have an eye for design. You don't just make it work, you make it look sharp.
You're coachable and hungry. You already know a lot, and you want to know way more.
You communicate clearly, hit deadlines, and don't need hand-holding.
Bonus points
Deeper WordPress experience (custom blocks, page structure, common plugins).
Experience building embeddable code blocks for other site builders too (Duda, Webflow, Squarespace, etc.).
You've already been using AI (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) to write or edit code.
A portfolio or CodePen of blocks/sections you've built.
Any SEO / performance / accessibility know-how.
What we're NOT looking for
Total beginners or "I just started coding" folks. We want someone we can train up, not train from zero.
People who are scared of or refuse to use AI.
Anyone who can copy-paste from ChatGPT but can't tell when the output is broken.
"Good enough" people. We ship excellent.
Why work with Local Legends
100% remote. Work from wherever you crush it.
Full-time, stable role on a team that's genuinely ahead of the curve on AI-assisted development.
You'll get trained and leveled up. We invest in our people.
Real work that helps real local businesses win, not soulless corporate filler.
A team that treats AI as a superpower and moves fast.
How to apply

Send us:

Proof you know HTML/CSS. A portfolio, CodePen, GitHub, or even a couple of blocks you've built.
A quick note on how you've used AI (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) to build or fix code, or why you're excited to.
Tell us about the coolest thing you've built and what made it good.

No portfolio or code samples means we can't review it. Show us you're the real deal.

Ready to build the future of web with us? Apply now.
