JOB OVERVIEW

I run two websites connected to my businesses in Alaska and am looking for someone to help manage the publishing and optimization of blog content.

The role will focus primarily on publishing and optimizing blog articles in WordPress, helping ensure content is properly formatted, internally linked, and ready to perform well in search engines.

The two websites are:

Turning Heads Kennel
A sled dog kennel and racing team connected to the Iditarod. This site focuses on educational and storytelling content about sled dog racing, training, kennel life, and the culture of mushing.

Seward Helicopter Tours
A tourism company offering helicopter tours and glacier dog sledding in Seward, Alaska. This site focuses on travel guides, activity planning, and information about experiences in the Seward and Kenai Fjords region.

Currently, the publishing schedule is one article per week for each website (two articles total per week).

The assistant’s responsibilities would include:
Uploading and formatting blog articles in WordPress
Structuring headings and formatting content for readability
Optimizing posts with SEO plugins such as Yoast or RankMath
Adding internal links between relevant articles
Adding images and alt text
Writing meta descriptions
Organizing categories and tags
Over time, the role may expand to include:
Content repurposing for social media
Maintaining internal linking across both sites
Helping organize the blog content library
Supporting additional content as publishing increases
Initially this role will likely require a few hours per week, but there is potential for the position to grow as the websites and content strategy expand.
I am looking for someone who is:
Organized and detail-oriented
Comfortable working in WordPress
Familiar with basic on-page SEO
Reliable and able to follow a consistent process
Experience with blog publishing, SEO optimization, or content management is strongly preferred.
