JOB OVERVIEW

Weekend IT Support Specialist — Retail Systems
Part-time | Remote (Philippines) | US$5 per hour | Weekends only

A multi-site Australian fashion retailer is looking for a dependable, service-minded Weekend IT Support Specialist to provide first-line remote support across ~55 stores.

You'll help store teams resolve common technology issues quickly, minimise disruption to trade, and make sure anything that can't be solved remotely is clearly documented and escalated. Practical troubleshooting matters — and so does patience, empathy and clear communication. Many store users have varied technical confidence, so explaining the next step simply is just as important as finding the fix.

The Opportunity
Pay: US$5 per hour (fixed advertised rate).
Arrangement: Part-time, ongoing weekend contractor engagement.
Schedule: Saturday and Sunday, 9:00am–8:00pm AEST (11 hours each day; about 22 hours per weekend).
Network: ~55 retail stores; typically ~15–20 tickets per weekend.
Core tools: NinjaOne remote support and Cegid POS.
Start: As soon as practical. Please include your earliest start date and any notice period.

What you'll be responsible for
- Provide first-line weekend IT support throughout the full Sat–Sun coverage window.
- Receive, triage and manage ~15–20 support tickets across the retail network each weekend.
- Troubleshoot remotely using NinjaOne, guiding store team members through practical, step-by-step fixes.
- Support store trading systems and equipment, including Cegid POS, Microsoft Surface Pro devices, printers, EFTPOS terminals, cash drawers, scanners, in-store music devices and media displayed on store televisions.
- Prioritise i ---------- by store and customer impact — especially issues that prevent or disrupt trade.
- Resolve known issues using approved training, documented procedures and workarounds.
- Escalate complex, unfamiliar or unresolved i ---------- to the client IT team with accurate notes, troubleshooting completed and relevant evidence.
- Maintain clear ticket records (issue details, actions, outcomes, outstanding items, follow-up).
- Provide a concise weekend handover for unresolved or recurring issues.
- Handle system access and store information securely, following approved policies.

Support approach
- Communicate calmly and respectfully, especially when a store team member is under pressure.
- Use plain English, avoid unnecessary jargon, and check the user understands each step.
- Take ownership through to resolution, escalation or documented handover.
- Keep store teams informed so they know what is happening and what to expect next.

What you'll bring (must-haves)
- Fluent English (spoken and written) — required. You must be confident supporting Australian store teams by phone and through ticket channels with clear, natural English.
- At least two years' experience in service desk, help desk or technical support — ideally multi-site retail, hospitality or customer-facing.
- Strong first-line troubleshooting across Windows/Microsoft environments, endpoint connectivity and common retail peripherals.
- Experience supporting POS systems and payment/store hardware; Cegid advantageous but not essential.
- Patient, practical, customer-focused communication.
- Sound judgement — know what to fix now vs escalate.
- Strong reliability across the full Saturday and Sunday 9:00am–8:00pm AEST window.
- Secure home working setup, reliable internet, and a dependable backup plan for connectivity/power interruption.
- Experience with remote monitoring/support tools; NinjaOne advantageous (training provided).

Training & success
You'll be trained on common weekend issues, approved troubleshooting steps, systems and escalation pathways. Success looks like prompt, calm support for stores; accurate first-line fixes with minimal trade disruption; clear tickets; timely escalations; clean Monday handovers; and growing self-sufficiency as the knowledge base develops.

How to apply
Apply with your CV and brief answers to these questions:
1) Confirm you have fluent spoken and written English suitable for Australian retail teams (Yes/No). How do you typically support users by phone?
2) How many years of service desk / help desk / technical support experience do you have, and in what environments?
3) Which remote support / RMM tools have you used (e.g. NinjaOne, AnyDesk, TeamViewer, similar)?
4) Describe a POS or retail-store IT issue you personally fixed end-to-end (what was broken, what you did, outcome).
5) Can you work every Saturday and Sunday 9:00am–8:00pm AEST at US$5 per hour? Confirm secure home setup + backup connectivity. Earliest start date?

Shortlisted applicants will complete a brief screen and meet the team. Applications are being reviewed now.
