JOB OVERVIEW

We are a growing Australian technology and local-media company building a long-term remote team in the Philippines. We are seeking a detail-oriented operations analyst to monitor site health and publishing workflows across a large network of local news websites.

This is a remote, full-time independent-contractor position with an initial paid trial. Rostered coverage may include weekends. You will receive access only to scoped dashboards and sandbox tools.

THE ROLE
You will watch automated jobs, queues, error signals and user-facing site behaviour, then separate genuine i ---------- from content-quality issues and route each problem correctly.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
• Monitor dashboards, queues, scheduled jobs and availability.
• Run documented checks after deployments or i ---------- .
• Reproduce and classify faults with timestamps, URLs and evidence.
• Maintain i ---------- logs and follow unresolved issues to closure.
• Escalate safely without changing production systems outside your permissions.
• Identify recurring failure patterns.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING
• Experience in web operations, QA, technical support or monitoring.
• Strong attention to detail and disciplined record keeping.
• Ability to follow runbooks and recognise when escalation is required.
• Basic understanding of HTTP errors, DNS, browser testing and scheduled jobs.
• Comfort working with Australian time zones and distributed colleagues.

HOW SUCCESS WILL BE MEASURED
• Fast detection of material failures.
• Accurate classifications with minimal false alarms.
• Complete evidence in every escalation.
• No unauthorised production changes.

HOW TO APPLY
Apply through this platform with a short introduction, your CV or work history, your hourly rate within the advertised range, your weekly availability, and answers to all three screening questions below. Generic applications that do not answer the questions will not be considered. Include links or anonymised samples where relevant.

1. What information belongs in a useful i ---------- report?
2. A site loads slowly but monitoring shows no outage. What do you check next?
3. Explain the difference between a content error and an infrastructure i ---------- .

PAID TEST
Shortlisted applicants may be invited to a short paid test: triage simulated alerts and screenshots, classify severity and ownership, and write two concise escalation notes.

We offer long-term work, predictable weekly hours, clear advancement opportunities, quality-focused management and respectful collaboration across time zones.

Important: Do not include passwords, production credentials, private customer data or confidential material in your application. Shortlisted applicants may be asked to sign confidentiality and intellectual-property terms before receiving scoped access.
