JOB OVERVIEW

Full-Time Virtual Assistant (Remote)

Hours
40 hours per week
5am–1pm UK time, Monday to Friday (Non Negotiable)
Occasional weekend support may be required (with notice)

Salary
£400 per month
90-day probation with performance and scope review

Reports To: Founder / Director

ROLE PURPOSE
To support the Founder by executing website management, written content, PR drafting, newsletters, and basic design tasks, turning direction and ideas into publish-ready output.

This role is execution-focused.
Sector knowledge, positioning, and final approval sit with the Founder.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Website Management (WordPress)
Update existing pages using WordPress
Add new pages using existing templates/page builders
Upload blogs, news, PR articles, and resources
Maintain menus, internal links, and page structure
Fix common content issues (formatting, broken links, missing images)
Check pages display correctly on desktop and mobile
Flag technical issues that require a developer

Excludes: coding, plugin/theme development, hosting changes

2. Blog, News & PR Writing
Write blogs, news articles, and PR-style content based on:
Bullet points or voice notes
Events and activities
Existing content

Draft press releases suitable for local newspapers and partners
Ensure content is factual, clear, and professional
Submit all content for approval before publishing

3. Newsletter Creation (MailerLite)
Draft monthly newsletters (e.g. Camouflage Café and others)
Build and format newsletters in MailerLite
Use existing templates and branding
Schedule and send newsletters on agreed dates
Archive newsletters on the website

4. SEO Hygiene & Content Organisation
Apply basic SEO best practices:
Headings (H1, H2, H3)
Meta titles and descriptions
Image alt text

Use categories and tags correctly in WordPress
Keep blog and news content well structured and searchable

5. Page Layout Drafting & Developer Coordination
Draft page layouts showing:
Section order
Content placement
Call-to-action positioning

Prepare page copy before developer build
Work with the developer to clarify requirements
Test pages after build and report issues clearly

- VA documents and relays instructions approved by Founder

6. Design Support (Canva)
Create simple, on-brand graphics and carousels using Canva, such as:
Event announcements
Blog/PR highlights
Newsletter visuals

Use existing brand colours, fonts, and templates
Focus on clarity and consistency (not trend-led design)

7. Content & Asset Library Management (IMPORTANT)
Maintain organised folders for:
Blogs
PR drafts
Newsletters
Website copy

Reuse approved wording, boilerplate text, and templates
Help reduce repeated rewriting and dependency on the Founder over time

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Essential
Confident written English
Experience using WordPress
Experience using MailerLite
Comfortable writing long-form content
Familiarity with Canva
Strong attention to detail
Reliable internet connection

Preferred
Previous VA, content assistant, or website assistant role
Basic understanding of SEO
Experience working with multiple brands
Experience writing News letters and Press Releases

90-day probation period

Quality and consistency of output
