Web Developer / Digital Platform Manager
DownUnder Travellers – Player Development & International Baseball Tours
DownUnder Travellers is one of Australia’s leading baseball development organisations, helping players gain exposure to U.S. colleges and professional baseball opportunities. Through international tours, elite camps, tournaments, and scouting events, we have helped over 100 players progress into U.S. college baseball.
We are now looking for a Web Developer / Digital Platform Manager to help build and manage the next phase of our digital platform.
Role Overview
This role will focus on maintaining and improving the DownUnder Travellers website (WordPress) while helping develop a player profile system or app-style platform where athletes can upload video, performance data, and statistics for college recruiting exposure.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building digital products, improving systems, and working with sports technology.
Key Responsibilities
Website Development & Management
Maintain and update the ---------- WordPress website
Improve website functionality, layout, and performance
Manage plugins, security updates, and integrations
Build landing pages for tournaments, tours, and camps
Player Profile / Recruiting Platform
Help design and build a player profile system
Allow players to upload:
Baseball statistics
Video highlights
Measurables (velocity, exit velocity, 60-yard times, etc.)
Recruiting information
Create a login/profile section for players
Develop a platform that can be shared with U.S. colleges and scouts
App / Platform Development
Explore development of a mobile-friendly platform or app
Ensure profiles are easy to view and share with recruiters
Integrate video hosting and performance tracking
Digital Growth
Improve SEO and website traffic
Integrate with social media and recruiting exposure
Assist with future digital products for the DownUnder Travellers ecosystem
Desired Skills
Strong WordPress development experience
Experience building member portals, profiles, or dashboards
Knowledge of web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP)
Experience with video integration and hosting
Ability to build scalable systems
Experience with sports tech or recruiting platforms is a bonus
Bonus Experience
Mobile app development
UI/UX design
Experience with athlete recruiting platforms
Knowledge of baseball or sports development environments
