# Water Mitigation & Mold Claims Specialist
**Remote | Full-Time | Long-Term Position**
We are looking for an experienced **Water Mitigation & Mold Claims Specialist** to join our growing team.
The ideal candidate will have experience in **water mitigation, water restoration, mold remediation, property damage restoration, or insurance claims** and understand how to review mitigation/remediation documentation and identify insurance claim underpayments.
This is a **specialized claims position**, not a general administrative role.
### JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Review water mitigation invoices, estimates, photographs, moisture documentation, drying records, and supporting documents.
* Review mold estimates, mold testing invoices, photographs, reports, and supporting documentation.
* Review the work performed by mitigation and mold remediation companies.
* Compare invoices and estimates against insurance carrier estimates and payments.
* Identify missing scope, discrepancies, omissions, and underpayments.
* Determine whether the insurance carrier has properly accounted for the work performed.
* Prepare supplement and additional payment requests.
* Communicate with insurance adjusters and insurance carriers.
* Negotiate additional payment when supported by the claim documentation.
* Explain and defend the requested scope and amounts.
* Follow up on outstanding supplements and disputed payments.
* Maintain accurate claim records and documentation.
* Work with mitigation companies and internal team members to obtain additional documentation.
* Manage multiple claims and ensure timely follow-up.
* Escalate complex or disputed claims when necessary.
### REQUIREMENTS
* Previous experience in **water mitigation, water restoration, mold remediation, property damage restoration, or insurance claims**.
* Strong understanding of water mitigation and/or mold remediation.
* Experience reviewing invoices, estimates, photographs, reports, and claim documentation.
* Experience comparing contractor invoices against insurance estimates or payments.
* Experience identifying insurance underpayments.
* Experience communicating with insurance adjusters or carriers.
* Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Confident communication and negotiation skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple claims.

* Restoration industry experience
* IICRC standards and terminology
* Insurance carrier negotiations

You should be someone who can thoroughly review a claim and understand the difference between:
**Work performed → Work documented → Work billed → Work allowed → Work paid**
You should be able to identify legitimate discrepancies and communicate professionally with insurance carriers to pursue additional payment.
We are looking for someone who is **detail-oriented, analytical, persistent, confident, and experienced in property damage claims.**
