We are looking for a skilled WHMCS developer / technical assistant to help improve, maintain, and customize our WHMCS environment for a hosting-related business.
This role includes technical support with WHMCS updates, client area customization, theme development, security improvements, spam reduction, system setup, integrations, and linking WHMCS with our WordPress website.
We need someone who understands both the technical side and the user experience side of WHMCS. Ideally, this person can help us create a smoother and more professional system for both admin operations and client-facing workflows.
This is not just basic admin work. We are looking for someone who can think strategically, troubleshoot issues, recommend solutions, and implement improvements.
Responsibilities
You may help with some or all of the following:
Update and maintain WHMCS safely
Review current WHMCS setup and identify improvements
Customize WHMCS themes, templates, and client area pages
Create or modify a WHMCS theme to better match our brand
Improve user experience in the client area and other customer-facing areas
Help connect and streamline WHMCS with WordPress
Advise on the best structure for using WordPress for front-end marketing pages while WHMCS handles billing, services, support, and account functions
Assist with WHMCS integration with WHM/cPanel and related hosting systems
Set up, improve, or troubleshoot product/service automation
Review plugins, modules, and integrations to determine the best solutions
Recommend whether certain needs should be solved with a plugin, existing feature, custom code, or process change
Improve security and general system hygiene within the WHMCS environment
Help reduce or stop spam, especially in the ticketing/support system
Review
Help implement best practices for forms, access, validation, and abuse prevention
Troubleshoot errors, conflicts, update issues, and integration issues
Document important changes and recommendations clearly
Communicate in plain language, not only technical language
Ideal Skills / Experience
We are looking for someone with strong experience in:
WHMCS development and administration
WHMCS template/theme customization
PHP
MySQL / database understanding
HTML, CSS, JavaScript
WHM/cPanel integration
domain/hosting billing workflows
automation and provisioning in WHMCS
WordPress development and integration
API/integration work
spam prevention and security best practices
troubleshooting third-party modules/plugins
staging / backup / safe deployment practices
Nice to Have
These are a plus, but not required:
experience with hosting/reseller environments
experience with support/ticket system optimization
experience improving WHMCS client UX
familiarity with server/security concepts
experience connecting WHMCS to branded front-end websites
experience with custom hooks, overrides, and module troubleshooting
