JOB OVERVIEW

Video Editor Purpose
The purpose of the Video Editor Role at Elixir is to process ad briefs from our creative team
and bring them to life through the power of video editing.
As a Video Editor, you are responsible for the actual execution and applying the finishing
touches on all the video ads we create. Our success as a marketing team will rely on your ability
to comprehend each ad concept, strategically put the pieces together, and enhance the overall
marketing message with your edits.
You understand that the smallest details can make the biggest differences. So, you take pride in
paying immense attention to detail in everything you do as those details can be the difference
between an ad that is shown to millions and an ad that is shown to very few.
Your active purpose at Elixir is to work alongside our Creative Director and Copywriters to edit
and bring to life ad briefs, utilize our creative resources, and help produce winning ads month
over month.
Video Editor Primary Roles
Onboarding:
? Learn our brand guidelines, tone, and visual style
? Study our winning ads and understand why they work
? Understand our avatar (who we're talking to)
Ongoing:
? Edit 15-20 ad briefs per week
? Source relevant B-roll from YouTube, stock sites, and other platforms
? Find the RIGHT clips that match the script and hook — not random footage
? Upload and organize edited ads into specific folders with correct resolutions (1080x1080,
1080x1920, 1920x1080)
? Communicate with copywriters and creative director to ensure ad concepts are executed
correctly
? Listen and apply feedback for existing and new ads
? Learn our Ads Strategy to understand what makes "Winning" and "Losing" ad concepts
? Complete weekly 30-minute ad analysis and review on concepts you have created
What You Need To Know
? How to source footage strategically (YouTube, Pexels, Storyblocks, etc.)
? How to match visuals to voiceover — intentional clips, not random B-roll
? Pacing for direct response ads — fast, punchy, no dead space
? Text/caption placement that's readable and scroll-stopping
? Basic color correction and audio cleanup
? Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or CapCut
Qualifications
? 1+ year of experience editing video ads (not vlogs, not YouTube videos — ads)
? 1+ year of experience with editing tools like CapCut, Premiere Pro, or DaVinci Resolve
? Experience editing eCommerce or direct response ads
? Experience working in a team environment and understanding individual roles

? Artistic and creative oriented mindset
? Visual communicator and storyteller
? High curiosity and an active imagination
? Strong willingness to do the "boring" work required
? Great communicator with the team
? Time-efficient, but willing to spend extra time to do things right
