Virtual Recruitment Sourcer – LinkedIn Specialist
Company: Hive Land & Planning Limited Location: Remote (Philippines-based) Part
Fees : To be Agreed
About Us
Hive Land & Planning Limited is a specialist real estate consultancy based in the North West of England. Our team of around ten people works across planning, development and socio-economics, advising developers, landowners and public sector clients on complex, high-value projects across the UK.
We're a close-knit, ambitious team and we're growing. As we expand, we want to take more control of how we find and attract talent — and we're looking for a skilled sourcing specialist to become a key part of how we do that.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Virtual Recruitment Sourcer to identify and approach candidates on LinkedIn on our behalf. It may also involve trawling through the websites of our competitors to find suitably qualified candidates.
You'll work directly with our leadership team, using detailed job descriptions and person specifications that we provide, to find high-quality candidates for roles in the UK planning and real estate sector.
The roles we typically recruit for range from Newly Qualified (RICS or RTPI) to Associate Director level — covering town planners, development surveyors, and socio-economic consultants — predominantly based in North West England and working on a hybrid office/home basis.
This is not a general admin or data entry role. We need someone who takes genuine pride in the quality of their research, writes excellent professional English, and understands that the professionals they are approaching are busy, discerning people who will only engage with outreach that feels relevant, credible and well-crafted.
If you have sourced candidates for UK professional services or property employers before, and you enjoy the detective work of finding the right person in a specialist field, this role is for you.
What You'll Be Doing
· Using LinkedIn (ideally LinkedIn Sales Navigator) to search for candidates matching the briefs we provide, with a focus on professionals in North West England
· Building a structured candidate longlist for our review before any outreach takes place, including your rationale for each person included
· Maintaining a clear, organised tracking spreadsheet for every search — recording candidate details, current role, outreach status and responses
· Providing a brief weekly update on progress, response rates and any observations about the search
· Continuously refining your approach based on our feedback as you get to know our standards and the kind of people we're looking for
What We'll be Doing
· Reviewing the spreadsheet of the shortlisted candidates to agree which to approach
· Approaching candidates
What We're Looking For
Essential
· Demonstrable experience sourcing candidates via LinkedIn — please describe a specific example in your application, including the type of role, how you approached the search, and the outcome
· Excellent written English
· Strong judgement in assessing whether a LinkedIn profile genuinely matches a brief, not just on job title but on the substance of someone's experience
· Experience building and maintaining candidate tracking spreadsheets ( Excel)
· Reliable availability with meaningful overlap with UK business hours (GMT/BST)
· Self-motivated, organised and comfortable working independently toward clear weekly targets
Desirable
· Experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator
· Previous sourcing experience for UK-based employers, particularly in professional services, property, planning or construction
· Familiarity with UK job titles and career structures in planning or surveying
· Experience handling candidate communications beyond the initial outreach message
How We Work With You
We're a small, straight-talking team and we'll treat you as a valued part of it. Before you begin any search, we'll brief you thoroughly — sharing the job description, the ideal candidate profile, example LinkedIn profiles of people who would and wouldn't fit, and approved outreach templates. We'll review every longlist together before you approach anyone, and we'll give you clear, constructive feedback so that your shortlists get sharper over time.
We're looking for someone who wants to build a long-term working relationship with us, not just complete one-off tasks. As our business grows, this role has the potential to grow with it.
To Apply
Please send us the following:
1. A short cover note (no more than three paragraphs) explaining your experience in LinkedIn sourcing and why this role appeals to you
2. A specific example of a candidate search you have completed — describe the role, your search approach, and the result
3. Your LinkedIn profile URL or a brief summary of your work history
4. Confirmation of your costs for undertaking the role
Applications that do not include a specific sourcing example will not be considered. We receive a high volume of applications and this is how we identify candidates who have read the brief carefully and can communicate with precision — both qualities that are essential in this role.
