JOB OVERVIEW

Virtual Grades 3 to 5 Mathematics Tutor

The Kirkland Group is seeking experienced Virtual Mathematics Tutors to provide online small group mathematics instruction to students in Grades 3 to 5.

This is a remote independent contractor opportunity beginning October 6, 2026 and continuing through December 2026.

Compensation

$10 USD per hour

Paid twice per month

Required Schedule

Tutoring will take place Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week.

Tutors must be available for ALL of the following scheduled tutoring blocks.

8:45 to 9:45 a.m. Central Time

12:45 to 1:20 p.m. Central Time

1:45 to 2:15 p.m. Central Time

2:40 to 3:10 p.m. Central Time

These are not optional time selections. Applicants must be available for the entire schedule every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Please consider the time difference between U.S. Central Time and Philippine time before applying.

Responsibilities

Tutors will provide virtual mathematics instruction and academic support to students in Grades 3 to 5.

Responsibilities include explaining mathematics concepts clearly, providing guided practice and feedback, checking student understanding, and providing targeted support based on student needs.

Tutors will work with small groups of students, generally no more than four students at a time.

Curriculum and Technology

We will use Edmentum Exact Path as our primary instructional resource.

Exact Path provides standards aligned mathematics lessons, instructional resources, practice activities, and individualized learning pathways.

Tutoring will be conducted through Lessonspace, an online classroom and interactive whiteboard that allows tutors and students to work through mathematics problems together, write and draw on the whiteboard, and share instructional materials.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree.

Applicants should have strong knowledge of elementary mathematics.

Experience teaching or tutoring children is required.

Excellent spoken and written English is required.

Online teaching or tutoring experience is preferred.

Applicants must have reliable high speed internet.

Applicants must have a reliable computer, webcam, microphone or headset, and quiet workspace.

Applicants must be able to commit to the complete Tuesday through Thursday schedule.

Applicants must be willing to complete the required background screening.

Applicants must submit both a resume and a short introduction video.

The introduction video should be approximately 1 to 2 minutes and should include your name, educational background, teaching or tutoring experience, experience working with elementary students, experience teaching mathematics, and why you are interested in this opportunity.

Please make sure the video has clear audio and video quality so that we can evaluate your communication skills and virtual teaching presence.

An orientation meeting will be held before services begin to review program expectations, instructional resources, technology platforms, and scheduling.
