Hours: 32 estimated (depending on preferred schedule)
Pay: $6 per hour
Schedule: Flexible within business hours (EST preferred)

About the Position

We are a private dental practice seeking an experienced Virtual Insurance Verification Specialist with strong Dentrix experience. This role is critical to maintaining accurate patient insurance records and ensuring our clinical and financial teams have precise benefit information.

?? Important: Prior Dentrix experience is required. Without previous hands-on experience in Dentrix, the learning curve will be too steep for this position.

Primary Responsibilities
1?? Insurance Eligibility Processing

If insurance is not automatically verified by our system, you will:

Request an Eligibility Pro Response

Monitor and wait for confirmation

2?? Review & Cross-Verification

Review the Eligibility Pro response and compare it to our Coverage Table

Because Eligibility Pro does not always provide complete details (such as frequencies, waiting periods, or certain limitations), you will:

Verify missing benefits via the insurance portal

Call the insurance company when necessary to confirm details

A template of required data will be provided

Missing information verification is expected in less than 20% of cases

3?? Dentrix Updates

If discrepancies are found, you will update:

Coverage Table percentages

Deductibles

Maximums

Relevant sections within the patient’s Insurance Plan in Dentrix

Accuracy is critical.

4?? Documentation

After verification and comparison:

Update eligibility status appropriately

Enter the following note in the patient’s chart:

“Insurance verified – [Your Initials]”

Workflow Expectations

You may work ahead up to 2 weeks in advance

It will take time to build a cushion, but working ahead is encouraged once fully trained

Attention to detail and consistency are essential

Qualifications

?? Previous hands-on experience with Dentrix (required)
?? Experience verifying dental insurance benefits
?? Ability to interpret coverage tables and insurance breakdowns
?? Comfortable calling insurance companies when necessary
?? Strong attention to detail
?? Reliable internet and quiet work environment
?? Professional written documentation skills
