Position: Virtual Care Call Center Specialist
Position Summary:
We are seeking experienced, compassionate healthcare professionals to join our Virtual Care Call Center Team. This role functions as a central hub for our 24/7 call center, supporting clients, families, and caregivers in real-time. The ideal candidate has a clinical background (RN preferred) and thrives in a fast-paced, problem-solving environment. You will play a key role in ensuring continuity of care, triaging concerns, coordinating schedules, and supporting caregivers; all while delivering an exceptional client experience.
Schedule: Varying shifts (24/7 coverage with overlapping schedules)
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and adjust caregiver schedules based on client needs, acuity, and preferences
Serve as the first point of contact for incoming calls (clients, families, caregivers)
Triage care concerns and escalate clinical issues appropriately
Respond to urgent staffing needs including call-offs and last-minute changes
Communicate effectively with Nurse Next Door's care team to ensure continuity and quality of care
Document all communications and care-related updates in accordance with HIPAA standards
Participate in rotating call center coverage to ensure 24/7 support
Qualifications:
Registered Nurse (RN) preferred (LPN or strong healthcare experience considered)
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in home care, healthcare coordination, or clinical setting
Strong understanding of medical terminology and patient care needs
Experience in scheduling, staffing, or care coordination
Proficiency in scheduling software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
Compassionate, patient-focused, and service-driven mindset
HIPAA knowledge and compliance required

Preferred Experience:
Experience in home care or home health operations
Familiarity with care management platforms (AxxessCare, AlayaCare, etc.)
Previous call center or remote coordination experience
Knowledge of state-specific home care regulations (ID/WA a plus)
