Social Media Director & Video Editor
The Neshamah Institute | Boca Raton, FL (Hybrid/Remote considered) | Part-Time or Contract
About Neshamah
The Neshamah Institute is a dues-free, membership-free, post-denominational Jewish community serving Boca Raton, Delray Beach, and greater Palm Beach County, with online programming reaching people worldwide. Founded in 2010 by Rabbi Amy Rader, Neshamah is a "synagogue without walls," built on the belief that Jewish life should be accessible, warm, and free from barriers to entry.
We tell stories. A lot of them. Across a growing slate of original video series for kids, teens, and adults, weekly
The Role
We're seeking a Social Media Director & Video Editor to lead the day-to-day life of Neshamah's digital presence: turning finished scripts and raw footage into polished, publishable video content, and running the social media channels where our community lives online.
This is a hands-on production and strategy role. You'll be working from scripts, series bibles, and SEO packages that are already built, so your job is execution, consistency, and creative judgment, not starting from a blank page every time.
What You'll Do
Video Editing & Production
Edit short-form video content for multiple ongoing series (children's Torah study, holiday programming, Shabbat music content, congregant interviews, and more)
Work from existing scripts, shot lists, and designer handoff briefs to bring each episode to life
Maintain visual consistency across series: title cards, lower thirds, sign-off graphics, and brand colors
Manage a regular production and publishing calendar across multiple concurrent series
Organize and archive raw footage, project files, and final exports
Social Media Management
Own day-to-day posting and community management across Neshamah's social platforms
Adapt long-form video content into platform-native short-form cuts (Reels, Shorts, TikTok-style edits)
Draft captions, hashtags, and post copy aligned with each series' established voice and sign-off lines
Monitor engagement, respond to comments and messages, and flag opportunities or concerns to Rabbi Amy
Track performance metrics and report on what's resonating, so we can do more of it
Collaboration
Work closely with Rabbi Amy and the Neshamah team to understand upcoming series, events, and priorities
Coordinate with designers, volunteers, and outside contributors as needed
Help maintain brand consistency across video, social, and web content
What We're Looking For
Demonstrated experience editing video for social platforms (portfolio or reel required)
Comfort managing multiple content series and deadlines at once
Strong eye for pacing, captioning, and platform-specific formatting (vertical video, text overlays, hooks)
Self-directed and organized. You'll be handed scripts and briefs, not detailed shot-by-shot instructions
Familiarity with or willingness to learn the rhythms of Jewish communal life and calendar (holidays, Shabbat, lifecycle events)
Experience with tools like Adobe Premiere, CapCut, Canva, or similar
Bonus: experience with GoHighLevel, Yoast SEO, or nonprofit/synagogue communications
Why Neshamah
You'll be joining an organization that treats storytelling as core to its mission, not an afterthought. Our content isn't filler between events. It's how thousands of people who will never walk through a physical building experience Jewish community. You'll have real creative ownership, a library of established series and brand assets to work within, and a team that moves fast and cares deeply about getting it right.
To Apply
Please send a resume, a portfolio or reel of recent video editing work, and a brief note about why this role interests you to
