JOB OVERVIEW

Video Script Writer

Remote — Philippines | Full-time contractor**

Salary: PHP 30,000–40,000 per month

Payment: Monthly

Availability: Across most of the UK workday, including a daily team stand-up call

About the Role

We’re looking for someone who is chronically online—in the best possible way.

You probably spend too much time on TikTok, immediately understand why an influencer is trending and regularly find yourself explaining the latest celebrity feud, creator controversy or piece of internet drama to everyone else.

Then please apply for this role!

You’ll research and write five scripts per working day for 3–5-minute Snapchat videos. Scripts will typically be approximately 450–750 words each, depending on the story and voiceover pace.

Each script needs a powerful hook, enough context for anyone to understand the story, constant forward momentum and a payoff that makes the audience glad they stayed.

You’ll also learn the specialist niches covered by our editors—including celebrities, influencers, sports, hip-hop and crime—and develop a strong understanding of the topics, personalities and angles that perform within each one.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Find stories worth covering
- Stay immersed in U.S. culture, TikTok, influencers, celebrities, music, sports and internet drama.
- Identify timely topics that fit the specialist niches covered by our editors.
- Find the most interesting angle rather than simply repeating what has already been reported.

- Research and write five scripts per day
- Produce five engaging 3–5-minute scripts each working day.
- Write approximately 450–750 words per script, depending on pacing.
- Structure each story around a strong hook, essential context, escalating developments and a clear payoff.
- Verify important facts, quotes, timelines and sources before including them.

- Build niche expertise
- Learn the key personalities, communities and recurring stories within each editor’s niche.
- Understand which topics and angles are most likely to perform.
- Work with the editors and Managing Director to identify future stories.

- Collaborate and improve
- Attend the daily team stand-up call.
- Remain available and responsive across most of the UK workday.
- Revise scripts quickly in response to feedback.
- Use AI tools to support research and ideation while taking responsibility for the final script.

What We’re Looking For

- A genuine obsession with U.S. culture, TikTok influencers and the latest internet drama**.
- Someone who naturally follows stories as they develop rather than discovering them several days later.
- Strong examples of relevant scripts, articles, stories or other narrative work.
- Excellent written English and a natural understanding of spoken storytelling.
- Strong instincts for hooks, curiosity, tension, pacing and narrative payoff.
- The ability to research quickly without sacrificing accuracy.
- The ability to learn unfamiliar niches and become genuinely knowledgeable about them.
- Reliability, curiosity and clear communication within a fast-moving remote team.

What Matters to Us

We don’t care where you went to school, how many years of experience appear on your CV or what you look like.

We care about:

- Whether you can find the real story inside a topic.
- How deeply you understand internet culture.
- How quickly you can research and learn.
- Whether you can write something people want to keep watching.
- What unique knowledge, voice and perspective you bring to the team.
