Video Editor for Direct-Response Ads (AI-Animated Story Ads + Short-Form)

Part-time to start, can become full-time | Work from home | Long-term role

About the role

We run direct-response lead-generation ads in the US for home services and insurance (home security, home warranty, Medicare). These are not brand videos or ecommerce ads. Every video has one job: get the viewer to fill out a short form or tap to call.

We're hiring an editor to own the edit on our two formats. This is an ongoing role with steady weekly work, not a one-time project.

What you'll edit

Long-form AI-animated story ads (5–6 minutes, vertical). Pixar-style 3D characters and first-person stories, often set to an AI-generated song instead of a spoken voiceover.
Short-form UGC-style ads and Shorts/Reels (15–60 seconds) for Facebook and YouTube, plus cutdowns of our long-form winners.

Weekly output is one long-form ad plus several shorts and variants.

Requirements

2+ years editing ads or social video, with a portfolio you can link. Facebook/YouTube ads, UGC, VSLs, or faceless YouTube preferred. Direct-response ad work strongly preferred.
Daily user of Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, plus After Effects (or equivalent) for text animation and overlays. CapCut is fine for shorts.
Hands-on experience with at least one AI video generator, and comfortable learning new ones fast.
Strong English reading comprehension. Captions must match the script word for word. In regulated industries like Medicare, a single wrong word can get an ad rejected.
You understand retention and conversion: why the first 3 seconds d ---------- everything, why the form-fill shot is the money shot, and why a caption has to work with the sound off.
Fast and consistent. You hit the weekly output without being chased.
Reliable internet and a computer that handles 4K and After Effects.
You take feedback well. We test everything, so revisions are a normal part of the job, not a criticism of your work.

Nice to have

Thumbnail and end-card design (Photoshop or Canva)
YouTube in-stream ad experience (hooking the viewer before the 5-second skip)
Sound design
Motion graphics for short "how it works" segments
Insurance or home-services ad experience

Schedule and pay

Hours: 4 hours per week to start, with the option to go full-time for the right person.
Overlap: At least 4 hours per working day overlapping with US Central time, [9 AM–1 PM Central, which is 10 PM–2 AM Philippine time, moving to 11 PM–3 AM from November]. The rest of your hours are flexible.
